Communion is a unique time for Christ followers to celebrate and remember Jesus together. If you love

Christ we invite you to join us in partaking of the bread and juice as Jesus commanded us to do.

The bread and juice represent the body and blood of Christ sacrificially given for you. Allow them to speak to

you of Christ's love and prayerfully renew your commitment to live for Him.

We encourage you to thoughtfully and prayerfully eat and drink in memory of Christ in your own time or as the

leader may direct.

Does the Australian church have a future?

Genesis 18 New International Version (NIV)

The Three Visitors

The Lord appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day. Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he hurried from the entrance of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground.

He said, “If I have found favor in your eyes, my lord, do not pass your servant by. Let a little water be brought, and then you may all wash your feet and rest under this tree. Let me get you something to eat, so you can be refreshed and then go on your way—now that you have come to your servant.”

“Very well,” they answered, “do as you say.”

So Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah. “Quick,” he said, “get three seahs of the finest flour and knead it and bake some bread.”Then he ran to the herd and selected a choice, tender calf and gave it to a servant, who hurried to prepare it. He then brought some curds and milk and the calf that had been prepared, and set these before them. While they ate, he stood near them under a tree.

Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Will I really have a child, now that I am old?’ Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”

Sarah was afraid, so she lied and said, “I did not laugh.”

But he said, “Yes, you did laugh.”

By this time next year the church will be filled with new disciples …

Shunnamite Woman 2 Kings 4:15-17

Then Elisha said, “Call her.” So he called her, and she stood in the doorway. “About this time next year,” Elisha said, “you will hold a son in your arms.”

“No, my lord!” she objected. “Please, man of God, don’t mislead your servant!”

But the woman became pregnant, and the next year about that same time she gave birth to a son, just as Elisha had told her.

FAITH ALWAYS FOCUSES ON GOD

Faith in God implies that we are relying on God's character and trustworthiness.

What God promised to Abraham & Sarah and to the Shunnamite Woman came to pass.

How can we discern?

Does the prophetic word align with God’s Word?

As we pray and talk and reflect, do we find this word resonating in our hearts, minds, spirits?

What is my/our response?

Our Response:

Pray! Ask the Lord that He would supply you opportunities to share your faith.

Pray for boldness to be willing to walk through an open door (Colossians 4:3).

Pray that people you speak to will be receptive.

Our Response:

As you read your Bible, ask the Lord to speak to you. Pray for insights and think about the verses God gives you continually.

“Follow a crock pot approach. Let the Word sit, soak, and simmer in you. This will ensure that you are

always prepared (1 Peter 3:15).”

Our Response:

Listen to people. When we listen to people’s hurts we can learn a lot. Often the felt needs of people will remind us of truth that we know that can bring life, hope, freedom, redemption, forgiveness etc. Trust that God will actually bring truth to your mind that you can share.

Our Response:

Keep Jesus as the focus!

Don’t get lost in the minutia of theological details. Instead, focus on who Jesus is and what He has done in your life.

There is power in the good news of Jesus.
