Executive summary

CommuniDev Environmental and Planning Services (Pty) Ltd was established in 2013.

Its aim was to master environmental problems with the goal of promoting development

viable to sustainability. Its primary goals are to harness environmental problems and

provide educational training to communities and in the work environment.

Environmental Management, Water Resource Management, Professional Services,

Training and Development, Research and other supporting services are core business

area of the company.

CommuniDev is made up of expertise tested in variety of disciplines across the

working environment and research areas. For this reason it is able to provide services

which are of standard and efficient for economic growth and promote the environment

full of responsibilities. The expertise is made up of professional researchers,

environmental managers, hydrologist, geologist, environmental practitioners and

supporting discipline in administration whereby qualified and registered accountants,

and project managers make it possible for CommuniDev to provide business friendly

services to its customers. CommuniDev boost itself with 15 years average experience

within its professional’s individuals whom are tested in different work environments in

government, private sector and academic institutions.

South Africa’s economic growth and development is constrained by its scarce water

resources and deteriorating water quality, environmental non-compliance, energy

inefficiency, shortage of skills and development, lack of development implementation

programs and uneven distribution of resources amongst its citizens. This requires the

ability to plan in an integrative and systemic way that seeks to understand social-

ecological systems, how they respond to change, and to develop appropriate

integrative governance structure. And for that reason CommuniDev is the answer.

CommuniDev is currently exploring the following Service areas: Environmental

services, Water Resource Management, Ground and surface water studies; Acid Mine

Drainage; Water Pollution; Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA); Environmental

Management Plans (EMP); Treatment Plant Management; Mining and Climate Change.

Other service areas include Training and Development, Research and Quality

Management, Supply of Goods and Services and Project Management. Supervision and

recommendations are coordinated by registered Professional scientists and

experiences individuals in the science discipline with years of experience and where

necessary other services are outsourced from other relevant professionals.

technology, training and recommendations from efficient and trustful professionals

executing the needs South Africa and the world want. It will be able to carry all these

CommuniDev is made up of 80 percent of youth and of this 40 percent of the staff are

female. The company aims to empower the unemployed graduates whom most of

them have no experience or are in their early career work. Looking at the country

demographic population in terms of numbers of unemployed youth, CommuniDev

aims to develop Youth Empowerment Programme (YEP) in its business environment

so that it can play a part in solving youth unemployment in South Africa and help the

country in dealing with unemployment within our communities.

CEO: Mr Choice Munyai

Mr. Choice Munyai is the founder of CommuniDev Environmental and Planning

Service (Pty) Ltd in 2013. The inspiration and dedication involved from the interest of

being a business empire in the near future and now that near future is becoming a

reality with CommuniDev now operating in the environmental sector and other

relevant business direction. He hold a Bachelor in Environmental Management

(Honors) from the University of Venda. Since graduation he participated in workshops

and training in Cape Peninsular University of Technology and West Coast (Habitable

Planet -ACCESS); and Climate Reality Leadership Corps in Sandton, Gauteng.

Mr. Choice Munyai has acquired work experience from different work environment.

These include Group Three Geo-Tech, Civil & Environmental engineering as an

Environmental Assessment Practitioner; Generational Training and Development as

an Environmental Researcher & Chairperson; Department of Rural Development and

Land Reform as a GIS Officer, Environmental officer and Training and Communication

officer (graduate) and also serve as an Environmental Officer at TheoMash

Environmental Consulting. He was also privilege to work as a Project coordinator and

manager at Kharitakuwe Building and Retail services (Pty) Ltd. The following expertise

COO: Mr. Doctor Khashane

Doctor Khashane is co-founder and chief operating officer CommuniDev

Environmental and Planning Service (Pty) Ltd. Mr. Khashane's extensive experience

spans a wide range of discipline which includes special expertise in information

technology.

His career started in 2000 as an intern in Manchu Consulting and was seconded to

Deloitte & Touché until September 2001. He then went and joined University of

Limpopo as a network consultant and in 2003 he started as a Network Technician at

SITA thereafter he became a Manager then a Senior Manager.

A Senior Manager of SITA, Mr. Khashane was responsible for all operations in the

provision of ICT services to the Limpopo Provincial Administration (all departments,

municipalities and agencies)

He has substantive experience in all aspects of managing information technology (IT)

infrastructure services, processes and activities around the deployment, operations

and support of IT infrastructure, communications and procurement. He consults

regularly with clients who require input on day to day business decisions, in addition

to major transactions and business initiatives. Whenever necessary, he involves the

appropriate specialized practice areas within the firm to provide multi-disciplinary

services to respond to the needs of clients.

Understanding the gravity and importance of each client's individual requirements,

he is dedicated to providing timely, practical advisors. His loyal, responsive and

people-oriented approach has earned longstanding client relationships, many of

which span his entire career.

Education

Mr Khashane obtained a BSc degree in Computer Science and Statistic & Operations

Research in 1999 from University of Limpopo. He also holds the following certification;

a professional registered accountant in Mr. Tshifhiwa Khashane. His practice

Ms. California Shonisani Mamanya is a graduate from University of Venda and hold a

B.Com in Accounting. She has worked and gained experience in accounting at Grand

National Consulting (Pty) Ltd as a Financial Accountant (trainee and permanent) over

the years. At CommuniDev she is responsible with management of accounts, updating

of budget information, implementing financial changes, analysis of expenses and

monthly cash flow (current and project). Other specific responsibilities in her watch

include:

Identification of areas for cost reductions and operational improvements

Periodic analysis of operations performance and analysis of financial

performance; and

Prepare monthly analysis of cost of services rendered and operational

expenses.

clients and customers because standard and quality assurance is guaranteed. This is

Project Management: Ms. Ntsieni Mudau (PLATO- GT1658)

Ms. Ntsieni Mudau obtained a B.Sc. in Environmental Geology (Honors) from the

University of Free State and a member of South African Council for Professional and

Technical Surveyors (PLATO). Ms. Mudau has been involve in Project Management for

various projects ranging from Geotechnical services, GIS, Construction and

Environmental Mapping and with such professional investment CommuniDev can

render quality services to its customers and clients. She has worked at City of Joburg

corporate Geo-informative as a GIS Specialist; Department of Rural Development and




Land Reform as a GIS Technician; and serves as a Research Assistant at Environmental

Remediation and Pollution Chemistry Group (ERPC). Summary of her responsibilities

include the following:

Implementation of GIS projects requiring sourcing of data

Statistical and spatial analysis; data management and interpretation

Cartographic mapping (development planning & urban management); and

produce various map on request.

Disaster and risk management (rural and urban areas)

Provide technical GIS support for Comprehensive rural development

programs (CRDP).

Support the roll out of GIS capacities in municipalities.

Environmental training, education and awareness

Field environmental assessment; sampling of environmental assessment data

and capturing of environmental data.

Project Administration: Ms. Funanani Grace Lavhelani

Ms. F. G. Lavhelani graduated a B.Sc. in Environmental Science (Honors) at the

University of Venda. She have worked at the University of Venda as an Assistant

Environmental Practitioner with NRF-DST programme and also in North West

University as a Research Assistant. Some of here responsibility includes, conducting

EIA to determine effect of new development, data collection for EIA projects,

conducting public participation process and ensuring that projects are run in

compliance with institution’s requirements. At CommuniDev as a project

administrator she is responsible for the following outcomes:

Project guidance to project teams;

Maintain and integrating project plans;

Tracking and reporting overall progress;

Administering project budget;

Planning and scheduling resources for a group of projects, and monitoring

resource utilization;

Performing quality review; and

Establishing and maintaining the project documentation library.

With such an asset CommuniDev is proud to implement project with quality and

administration which will ensure successful implementation of good working

conditions and delivery which is sustainable.

Environmental Management: Dr. Masindi Vhahangwele (PR.SCI.NAT.)

CommuniDev is proud to have Dr Vhahangwele Masindi a certified Professional

Natural Scientist: Environmental Science as a staff member of the company. Mr. V.

Masindi holds a PhD in Environmental Science; M.Sc. in Environmental Management

(Cum Laude); and Bachelor of Environmental Management from the University of

Venda. He is also decorated with a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety from

Oxbridge Academy (Cum Laude); short courses in Geotechnical modelling (UP),

Environmental compliance (UP), Technical report writing (CSIR) and Research

innovation and core skills (CSIR) to name the least.

Dr. V. Masindi has worked at TheoMash Environmental Consulting (Pty) Ltd as a Senior

Research and Project Manager, serve as a Technical Assistant at the University of

Venda and he is currently working as a Senior Environmental Assessment Practitioner

Dr V. Masindi also have many publication of science he have worked on over the years

and as such scientific knowledge and skills distinguish his expertise and exposure in

Environmental Hydrology: Mr. Pfananani Ramulifho

Mr. P.A Ramulifho hold a Master of Science in Hydrology (2015) from UKZN and

Bachelor of Environmental science (Honors) from University of Venda (2012). Mr.

Ramulifho is decorated with 5 years combined experience in the work environment.

He has worked as Junior Specialist at ORASECOM, Junior Aquatic Researcher at

Freshwater Research Centre (UKZN) and Research Manager at Generational Training

and Development. He also served in leadership role as a monitoring and evaluator

leader at ORASECOM, Chairperson of Centre for Academic Information at UKZN and

Representative of Univen geography honors student at the University of Venda. The

Environmental Geology: Mr. Peter Muleya

Mr. P. Muleya graduated a Bachelor of Science in Mining and Environmental

Geology (Honors) from the University of Venda and a GSSA Affiliate Member. He

has 6 years combined work experience in his profile. He has worked at Anglo

American Kumba Iron Ore (Thabazimbi) as a Pit Geologist; GeoActiv/CEI Africa

(Exploration) as a Field Geologist and at De Beers Venetia Mine as a Geologist.

Ltd. She also worked at EIM Environmental Solutions (Pty) Ltd as a Field researcher

and worked at Generational Training and Development as a Water Care Specialist.
