Introduction
Mission: To provide communications and information systems support in its entirety to include Mainframe 3270 Access, Information Assurance, Voice, Classified Data, Unclassified Data and NMCI oversight for operational units and tenant organizations aboard Camp Pendleton, to improve the combat readiness of the operating forces.
About CIS: The Communications and Information Systems Department is led by Mr. Pete Copeland and composed of the following Divisions: Operations, Service and Support, Telephone, Data, Mainframe Support, Information Assurance, and Communications Electronics Maintenance.

• Comprised of the following Branches: the Project Management Branch and the Customer Service Branch.
• Responsible for the planning of telecommunications network architectural plans and support of existing structure.
• Acts as the main point of contact for customers aboard Camp Pendleton requiring communications and information systems support.
• The Projects Management Branch is responsible for developing strategic architectural plans for the voice, data, and radio infrastructure aboard Camp Pendleton.
• Update existing Telecommunication Management System (TMS).
• Management of Base Infrastructure.
• Convert existing cable prints to the Geographic Information System (GIS).

• Branches
– Area Control Center (ACC) - Provides Defense Messaging Dissemination for MCB Camp Pendleton, MCI-West Installations (29 Palms, Bridgeport, Barstow, MCRD San Diego, Miramar and Yuma), deployed units and all CONUS active duty Marine Activities west of the Mississippi.
– Network Operations Center (NOC) - Provides MCW SIPRNET access and support for MCB Camp Pendleton and legacy NIPRNET server and desktop support for MCB Camp Pendleton and tenant organizations.
Data Division
• ACC supports over 650 Distinguish Names (DNs) for MCB Camp Pendleton, MCI-WEST, and Camp Lejeune (COOP).
• The ACC disseminates roughly 49,000 DMS Messages per month which equates to approx. 28,000 NIPRNET and 21,000 on the SIPRNET.
• The ACC is on 24/7 in support of deployed and garrison units.
• ACC has created over 6000 user accounts on AMHS over the last ten months.
