COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGIST

Nestled near the confluence of the Yellowstone and Missouri Rivers, Williston has historically been the economic center of our trade area. Williston continues to thrive economically area due to the agricultural heritage and the position as a hub city to the world class Bakken oil industry. With the oil, also came great opportunities for Williston and the Western Region.

The City of Williston’s population has tripled over the last 10 years. Over 2 billion dollars of new construction has provided new housing and infrastructure to meet the needs this dynamic community. Williston’s future is bright for current residents and for those looking for a place to expand and improve their quality of life. In 2019 Williston will be opening a new airport north of the city. The airport will allow for improved air service for the growing economic base.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARYWe are looking for a bright, strategic mind that has a talent for communicating city initiatives and

operations. The Communications Strategist would coordinate and implement communication activities consistent with the values, goals and positive image of the City of Williston; to disseminate information about the City of Williston municipal activities and programs to the public, media and other entities; to coordinate outside activities with other departments, divisions, and outside agencies; and to provide information and assistance to Board of Commissioners, City Administrator, department heads and the general public to build strategic relationships for the City of Williston.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITSThe City of Williston offers a competitive salary to commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Benefits include health insurance, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, pension plan, and a generous leave package to include vacation, sick, and holiday leave. Salary range is $75k-$85k annually.
