COMMUNITYINVESTMENT

PROCESS

United Way works with the community to identify communityneeds

The Community Investment process is United Way’s method for annually reviewing and evaluating the funding applications submitted by nonprofit agencies to determine the level of funding that will be provided each year. Our unique system allows us to remain transparent and accountable, while distributing donations to 29 programs making lasting changes in our community.

This process ensures that your contribution is invested in the best possible way and has the greatest impact. Volunteers, who are also donors, are selected to serve on the Community Investment Committee. Last year, 9 volunteers served, donating nearly 800 hours of their time.

VOLUNTEERS Bob personified the spirit of volunteerism. His response to any greeting was always “MAGNIFICENT”. This one word embodied Bob’s attitude towards his community, his family and friends. Personal hardship taught him to seek out those who were hurting, giving them unconditional love and support. United Way benefited from his wisdom. The many different roles through which Bob served our community encompassed the total United Way mission. He will live on in our hearts – he truly made a difference. Those who receive this award will represent and continue his spirit through their United Way volunteerism.
