• Advantages: -‐Can be used for naviga)on in car or during
hiking, so people don’t need to worry about

• Disadvantages: -‐It can fail if some building block the satellite signal, preven)ng the GPS from receiving posi)on updates or the GPS baSery dies. -‐Its signal can be inaccurate because buildings or trees can deflect the signal causing the posi)on in GPS to move. Storms or rain can also deflect the signal.
iPad
• Advantages: -‐it can play videos, photos, allows us to access and view changes in social networks, read eBooks, throwing million applica)ons, games, play music, keep up to date our agenda, make notes, access to Google maps and many more things. -‐It is lightweight, compact and offers a unique work flow.

TV (Television) • Advantages: -‐it keeps us informed of all current affairs in the world Events through TV are more vivid than those through books and magazines. -‐helps us enrich our spiritual lives. Our knowledge is broadened in many ways. Through language teaching programs, we can learn the language we like such as: English, French, German, Chinese, Japanese and so on. We can become skilful and clever at doing jobs, making cakes or arranging flowers through prac)cal courses taught on television.
TV (Con)nued) • Disadvantages: -‐It viewers gradually become passive in their ac)on. It may be a splendid media of communica)on, but it prevents us from communica)ng with each other. It separates us from the real world. -‐Their viewers from all ages get addicted and so neglect every work that they need to do. -‐it encourages them to commit crimes from TV channels that talk about violence, sadism, rape or murder
Radio • Advantages: -‐reach specific audiences through specialized programming, it can also be adapted for different parts of the country and can reach people at different )mes of the day. -‐radio )me slots provides the best audience for many adver)sers. -‐the least expensive of all other media because air)me costs are low, extensive repe))on is possible.

• Disadvantages: -‐it relies solely on audio, which means that it has to work twice as hard to grab and hold the listener's aSen)on. -‐Commercial radio programming decisions are based on audience popularity, however, and entertainment value is the primary considera)on in most cases.
Computer • Advantages: -‐It can store large amount of facts, instruc)ons and informa)on.
-‐It can process data with accuracy at a very high speed (reaching up to 50 million opera)ons per second).
-‐It can repeat opera)ons in exactly the same way over long period of )me.
-‐It is capable of execu)ng instruc)ons on its own aOer the data and program have been fed into its memory.

Computer (Con)nued) • Disadvantages: -‐can only perform opera)ons programmed or instructed by a person.
-‐subject to occasional breakdown or malfunc)on. -‐Its capability to perform logical opera)ons depends on the choice prepared by the programmer.

Fax Machine
• Advantages: -‐Important for receiving document as soon as possible and if it is a paper that can’t easily be sent through email.
-‐Cheaper, instead of shipping documents and pay for the shipping, documents can be sent directly using fax.
-‐Can turn computer into fax machines by using soOware called efax.

• Disadvantages: -‐Using efax needs internet connec)on.
-‐Needs someone to receive the document and also check if the printed document will be alright or not.
DVR (Digital Video Recorder)
• Advantages -‐Can record certain TV shows with the )me limit depends on the size of the DVR’s hard drive.
-‐Pause and rewind live TV programs -‐Skip commercial ads in TV, replay TV program scenes and freeze the TV screen.
-‐User can record one TV channel while watching another TV channel at the same )me or watching one recorded TV channel while recording 2 other TV channel. This is called dual tuner models.

• Disadvantages -‐can only watch recorded programs on TV if the TV is connected to the DVR.
-‐Hard drive could crash and delete every recorded TV channel
-‐DVR doesn’t support HDTV, and even though it can record HDTV channel, it’ll s)ll display the channel in standard display
Headphones
• Advantages -‐Block outside sounds, so nothing can disturb you from listening music, video, etc
-‐Won’t disturb other people because the only one that can hear the sound is the person that wears it.

• Advantages -‐More flexible than using arrows on keyboard or track pad, user can also adjust the speed of the cursor. It’s also useful for many computer games that need responsive and accurate cursor.

• Advantages -‐Excellent way to keep in touch with friends and family

-‐Ask friends about loca)on of places through TwiSer, Facebook, etc
Social Networking (Con)nued) • Disadvantages -‐Some people take advantage of the anonymity the internet can provide and resort to wri)ng about or uploading unnecessary content (for example pornography)
-‐Photo that get uploaded and shared publicly can be seen by many people and some of them can morphed the photo and uploaded as a joke
-‐ Private informa)on like job, address, etc, can be known easily and not become private anymore.
-‐Teenagers are in danger because they didn’t realize that the strangers they talked in social networking sites are dangerous
E-‐mail (Electronic mail)
• Advantages -‐Cheap (only need internet connec)on)
-‐Easy to use, if it’s already set up, sending and receiving e-‐mail is very easy
-‐Fast, in a maSer of seconds, the mail can be sent
-‐Saving environment, since it doesn’t use paper, use electricity but not much
-‐Easy to organize mail unlike paper-‐based mail

• Disadvantages -‐Some users prefer receiving email updates over an RSS feed.

-‐Publishers cannot determine how many users are subscribed to their feed and the frequency of their visits.
VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol)
• Advantages -‐Cheap for local, long distance and interna)onal calls than tradi)onal phone service
-‐some providers like Skype offers free PC-‐to-‐PC calls using their soOware.
-‐provides features that are usually not available with tradi)onal phone service, such as virtual phone number, you can choose a phone number with area code different from where you reside.
-‐Mobility and portability. You can use it anywhere with broadband connec)on. You only need laptop and headset to do that.

• Disadvantages -‐It won’t work during power outages or when the internet connec)on is down
-‐Call quality is affected by the quality of broadband connec)on and the performance of your laptop or computer.
Satellite Communica)on Services • Advantages -‐helpful for the people staying in remote areas, as this
service covers the long distance transmissions being very powerful in sending and receiving the signals.
-‐helpful for the department of defense, where the people on the fields cannot use the wired services every )me.
-‐helpful during the )me of natural disasters as the wired services have large chances of failing, but the satellite communica)on being absolutely wireless and working through the signals from the satellites above, this service can never fail.
-‐ it include the services like voice calling, video calling, radio, television channels, internet, fax, etc.
Satellite Communica)on Services (Con)nued)
• Disadvantages -‐expensive to customer because the provider needs expensive cost to maintain and launches the satellite.
-‐Unreliable because satellite failure can occur. -‐Signal delay can happen because satellites are posi)oned so they rotate around the earth at the same rota)on of the earth. But the satellites’ orbit is far from the earth, so slight delay occurs. This can cause confusion during phone calls, can’t be used for watching TV, and real-‐)me applicants work improperly.
