GEN 4.2 - AIR NAVIGATION SERVICES CHARGES 0.1

1. AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL CHARGES 0.1

1.1 For Air Traffic Control charge purposes, thecharging zone is defined on page GEN 4-2-2.

1.2 All aircraft Maximum Take-Off Weights (MTOW)referenced in this AIP are considered as certifiedby the aircraft manufacturer.

1.3 All civil aircraft transiting The Bahamas’ airspacewithout landing in or taking off from The Bahamaswill be charged a distance-based fee, which willdepend on the aircraft MTOW in accordance withthe following table:

The charges will be calculated based on theGreat Circle Distance (GCD) between (i) the pointof entry into The Bahamas’ sovereign airspaceand (ii) the point of exit from The Bahamas’ sove-reign airspace.

1.4 All civil aircraft landing in or departing from TheBahamas will be charged a flat fee, which willdepend on the aircraft MTOW in accordance withthe following table:

The charges will be levied on a per-flight basis.

1.5 Passengers landing in or departing from TheBahamas will be charged a flat fee of one dollar($1.00). The charges will be levied on a per-flightbasis.

2. METEOROLOGICAL SERVICE CHARGES 0.1

2.1 Meteorological services are not currently leviedby The Bahamas.

3. EXEMPTIONS 0.1

3.1 The following aircraft are exempted of Air Naviga-tion Services charges:

a) Aircraft engaged in search or rescue opera-tions or in the provision of emergency medicalservices.

b) Aircraft performing an emergency landing atan airport other than the airport of its intendeddestination.

c) Aircraft operated by private users and pow-ered by a single piston-engine.

d) Aircraft owned or chartered by the Govern-ment of The Bahamas.

e) Aircraft belonging to the Armed Forces orGovernments of ICAO’s member states.

4. METHODS OF PAYMENT 0.1

4.1 All air navigation services charges shown areexclusive of VAT.

4.2 All payments referenced in this AIP are in Baha-mian dollars (BSD).

4.3 Air Traffic Control charges are invoiced to the air-craft operators and collected by the Civil AviationAuthority of The Bahamas (CAAB). Details ofCAAB are as follows:
