How to use:This product was created to provide further

instruction and assessment of the critical verbs

of the Common Core standards. I personally

scoured the standards and pulled out the

verbs that I knew were tricky for my students.

Those 52 verbs are found in this product. I’ve

divided the verbs into twelve small groups. I

teach one group of words per week for 12

weeks. I like to copy the graphic organizers for

the week into a packet and introduce, analyze

and discuss a new word each day. I hang the

corresponding word wall card found HERE on

the day it is taught. Students take the packets

home to study and I administer the weekly

quizzes on Fridays. Once all verbs are taught,

we continue to review them for the entire year

to ensure mastery. I use the critical verb

vocabulary games found HERE to accomplish

this feat.
