COMMITTEES – STUDENTS COUNCIL

ACTIVITIES 2017-18

Student council played a very important role in grooming and encouraging students to display their talents. Students were encouraged to participate in several Intra and Inter Collegiate competitions.

The council in-charges ensured that each student gets a equal platform and their skills are polished. The teachers in-charged formed the student council with both the S.Y and F.Y batched where daily tasks were distributed.

Apart from this, the teachers in-charge took special care efforts to train students for Role Plays, Street Plays, Dance, Elocution, Drama, Fashion Show, Singing and Personality Competitions where students took part in great number and ensured a win for the college.

Some of the remarkable events organised by the Student Council at Rizvi College of Education are listed below with their glimpses!

1) TALENT HUNT COMPETITION- 14th October 2017

In order to give the students a platform to showcase their hidden capacities, a talent hunt competition was organized by Rizvi College of Education on 14th October 2017 in the college premises.

The event was organised by the Student Council Committee of the College. In order to maintain anonymity and to keep the judgement unbiased, the participants were given codes. The Principal of the college, Dr. Radhika Vakharia presided over the event. Dr. Vakharia highlighted that the college always seeks to strike a balance between academic and co-curricular activities for the students. The principal motivated the students to draw inspiration from their lives and achieve success. She also advised the students to lay stress on dedication and discipline and polish their talents. The judges for the event were Dr. Radhika Vakharia and Ms. Rehana.

Around 35 B.Ed. students of the college participated in the event in the various competitions of Best out of waste, Mehendi, Thali Decoration, Lantern Making etc. The students who stood first in various events were as follows:

2) Intra College Poster Competition – 6th November 2017 The Student Council and the Women’s Development Cell had organized a ‘Poster Competition’ on Gender Issues. The programme was conducted on November 6, 2017 at the College Auditorium. Students from F.Y.B. Ed and S.Y.B. Ed had taken part in the competition. The posters were kept on display in the college auditorium for an exhibition. Mrs. Rakhi Sawlane were the Faculty-in- charge of the competition. All the students who had participated in the creative session of poster making portrayed their concepts into the canvass in an enthusiastic, energetic and innovative way. It paved the way for re-living the old school days where they dealt with colors and drawings. Here are a few outstanding posters of our students:

3) COUNCIL ELECTIONS

The student council at RCOED is selected in an unbiased way through the Elections. The

elections for the F.Y.B.Ed students was conducted in the month of December for the

appointment of the council members for the term of two years. Below are a few glimpses

4) Christmas Celebrations – 23rd December 2017

F.Y.B.Ed Students of RCOED organised Christmas Celebrations at the campus. The event was organised by the Students’ Council under the guidance of Mrs. Nahida and Mrs. Rakhi. Students had organised a Tableau followed by Secret Santa where gifts were exchanged. It was good to see the teachers and student-teachers letting their hair down for a change and enjoying the celebrations like college students. Well done

5) Harvesting Festival- 15th January 2018

S.Y.B.Ed Students of Rizvi College of Education organised an cultural event to celebrate the Harvesting Festivals celebrated across India on 15th January 2018. This event was done to mark the contribution of Farmers.

Students performed dances accompanied by a small skit to depict the celebrations done in North, South, East and West of India.

It was truly an enriching event where each and every student participated to celebrate the good harvest our farmers have cultivated today.

The event was later followed by Kite Making competition where the theme was “Stop Wastage of Food”. Judges for the competition were our senior staff members, Mrs. Spoty Karthik and Mr. Gyanprakash Arya.

For the competition, first position was bagged by Ms. Sana Hussain for her eco-friendly kite, followed by Ms. Rubina for her beautiful message on the kite and the third position was given to Ms. Steffi for her innovation and neatness.

It was a day well spent and thoroughly enjoyed by staff and students alike.

6) INTER COLLEGE COMPETITIONS

S.Y and F.Y.B.Ed Students participated in various events organised by Lords Universal College. They showed their enthusiasm in participating in events like Face Painting, T-Shirt Painting, Ad- Making, Personality Competition, Fashion Show, Dance and street Play.

Our teachers and Principal took special efforts to train them. Dance was looked into by Mrs. Nahida and Dr. Priyanka; Fashion Show was choregraphed by Mrs. Pooja and conceptualised by Dr. Radhika and Dr. Asha; Street Play was rehearsed by Mrs. Spoty, Mr. Gyanprakash and Mrs. Rakhi

Mr. Bhavesh won the Personality Competition and grabbed the title of Mr. SOUL and Mr. Devesh, Ms. Shahima and Mr. Bhavesh won the debate competition.

Rizvi College of Education is very proud of all the B.Ed. Students for showing such dedication, enthusiasm and energy.
