COMMITMENT SUNDAY – SUNDAY, OCTOBER 14
We will continue in our current sermon series and be blessed by the music of our Chancel Choir & Student Choir!
Please remember to bring your Commitment Card with you. At each Sanctuary entrance we will have extra Commit-
ment Cards; as well as, envelopes if you would like to place your card in them. We were not able to mail a Commit-
ment Card to people for whom we did not have a birthdate on file. With 2,550 church members, we have to sort our
mass mailings by age. Please call the church (601.856.6058) or email our Administrative Assistant, Jackie
McGough, ([email protected]) to inform us of your birthdate so that we can add you to future mailings
that are just for adults.
We are asking for all of us who can to go to our website (www.madisonumc.org/go) and sign up for our church’s
mission and service opportunities (KIDS Ministry, Student ministry, Music and Worship Ministry, Missions, etc.).
There will also be Every Member Service printed forms at the sanctuary entrances and in the church office, and you
can place those in the baskets in the sanctuary after church or turn them in to the church office.
DISTRICT CHARGE CONFERENCE
– ALL CHURCH MEMBERS INVITED
& NEEDED!
Our church family will attend the District Charge
Conference on Monday, October 22, at 7:00 p.m.
at Christ United Methodist Church. This is not a
typical Charge Conference but it is a special time
for all area Methodists to join together for worship
and fellowship. Bishop Swanson will preach for
this service and our Chancel Choir will be joining
with a District Mass Choir to lead us in worship!
We will also get to witness and celebrate those
being called from our many District churches into
ministry, like our very own Cory Phillips!
Please make plans now to attend that service and
to join with other District churches in worship, in
fellowship and in celebrating our mission and con-
nection together. Due to the large crowd for this
service, there will not be childcare for this service.

DELTA GRACE WEEKEND MISSION TRIP
(November 2-4, 2018)
We have a great opportunity for you or your family to show your commitment to discipleship by serving those in
need in Sunflower, MS. Delta Grace is a non-for-profit, multidenominational, faith-based organization that matches
mission teams with those in need of minor home repairs. A project manager is assigned to oversee the work at the
homes and assist the teams as needed.
We are organizing a work team to serve Delta Grace on Friday, November 2nd and ending on Sunday, November 4th.
You can work just one day (Friday or Saturday) if that will fit your schedule better; or, you can work both days
(Friday and Saturday). Team members are encouraged to stay Sunday morning for worship with Sunflower UMC if
they can. SUMC serves as the hub for Delta Grace.
This is a family friendly organization. Anyone from age 7 to 97 can attend; so consider making it a family affair!
(All minors, 18 years or under, must be accompanied by a responsible adult).
To sign up (to serve and/or donate) go to www.madisonumc.org/deltagrace. DEADLINE is MONDAY, OCTOBER
15. If you need help or more information, please contact Carolyn Schussler at [email protected] or 904-403-

We are continuing what Jesus started…
Every shoebox gift delivered by Operation Christmas Child is a tangible expression of God’s amazing love.
But a shoebox is just the beginning. It also presents an opportunity in more than 100 countries for our
church partners to invite children into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Pray for God’s blessing as
we continue to share His love with children around the world
