Around 1888–89, the Alabama Midland Rail System began to lay tracks from Montgomery, Alabama, to Bainbridge, Georgia. The decision to route the tracks through Dothan (Alabama) was great news and cause for much excitement for the tiny village of “Pine-Woods.” What began as a small settlement, where the major industry was the turpentine still, was about to grow and prosper as they looked toward the twentieth century. The music is a dance of joy and exuberance interrupted momentarily with a reflective contrasting musical statement. Preview Only Legal Use Requires Purchase
