VARI-SPINOur SMART machines are programmed to know how long a load takes to dry.

By automatically slowing down as garments dry, our invertor-driven variable

speed drums allow items to drop in the ‘10 to 4’ position on every revolution,

rather than hugging the outside of the drum. This speeds up the dry by

maintaining constant warm airflow as the cycle completes, which in turn

reduces waste and saves money on utility bills.

ECO-FLOWTo enhance heat exchange, warm air is passed through the dryer from

the top and rear of the drum. Ultra-efficient airflow then increases contact

time with laundry items, while heat is kept in the drum for longer thanks

to a reduced number of perforations. This achieves the perfect ‘time-at-

temperature’ balance and speeds up drying times to maximise the Kg’s

dried p/hr and save you money.

2-PHASE HEATINGOur SMART Dry machines are built in such a way that ambient air is

drawn over the machine’s stove, and ‘pre-warmed’ before going

on to be heated further in the flame chamber itself . This 2-phase

heating process makes use of residual heat that other dryers lose to the

atmosphere, reduces the time it takes to get air to the optimum drying

temperature, and saves you money on utilities in the process.

DRUM SUPPORT ROLLERS

Specially engineered 2-point roller support takes the stress away from key

component parts, which makes for smoother drum rotation and helps to

extend the life of your SD machine. Noise is also reduced during a cycle,

garment life is extended and the chances of breakdown are greatly reduced

thanks to the absence of the friction or ‘shock’ inherent in older machines,

whereby moving parts can come into contact and cause excessive wear.

SELF-CLEANING LINT FILTER

Building on the design of lint filters in previous JLA machines, the SMART

filter is positioned, shaped and angled to allow lint to fall under its own

weight – keeping the mesh screen clear and reducing the need for emptying.

When emptying is required, an easy access side opening door makes the

process quick and hassle free.

REVERSING CYLINDER

When washing large items such as sheets or bed covers, ‘roping’ and

‘balling’ can take place as the load tangles. Our reversing tumbler

(available in single phase for the first time) keeps everything moving

inside the drum, and allows your items to drop and dry more quickly.

SOFT START & SMOOTH SPIN

By introducing an invertor drive, we have eradicated the risk of damage

and friction that can become a problem in ‘sudden start’ machines.

The invertor also makes ‘vari-spin’ possible, which optimises airflow.

Constant high speed spin would lead to excess centrifugal force,

causing heavy wet items to stick to the outer drum, block hot air flow

and increase drying times as well as running costs.

HEAVY-DUTY CABINETS

Designed to take daily wear and tear in their stride, our SMART Dry

machines are durable in the extreme. JLA’s trademark industrial build

quality offers heavy-duty reassurance, while a smooth, crafted finish

adds to the appeal of these market-leading laundry work-horses.

AUTO-DRY

In auto-dry mode, easy-to-use controls allow you to select different

dryness levels depending on whether ‘cupboard dry’ is preferred, or

‘damp dry’ is required to aid ironing. A SMART microprocessor constantly

measures and monitors the temperature of the load, and uses this

intelligence to determine when the desired dryness level has been

reached. Once it has, the dryer cycle automatically ends – preventing

energy wastage that would otherwise occur through the constant

opening and closing of the machine door.

PROTECTING PEOPLE AND PROPERTY

In commercial settings, spontaneous combustion accounts

for the majority of dryer fires - with 99% occurring after a

machine has finished its cycle and heat builds up in static

garments. Without innovative technology, this would

result in damage to your property and put lives at risk –

either directly from fire or indirectly through evacuation,

particularly where vulnerable people are on-site.

The unique fire extinguishing intelligence in our SMART

Dry machines literally makes them more SAFE than any

other range on the market. In the unlikely event of a

dryer fire the Sensor Activated Fire Extinguishing system

automatically dowses flames on detection of abnormal

heat once the dry has completed, using atomised water

vapour to soak and cool the load.

HOW IT WORKS

Our patented SAFE system constantly monitors the dryer

drum to give you non-stop protection against the outbreak

of fire. Two SMART sensors detect any significant change

in temperature, and activate a sophisticated water vapour

mechanism that soaks laundry to extinguish flames in

seconds. No flooding ever takes place, so the risk of staff

injury or damage to your property is eliminated – as are the

associated risks of large scale evacuation.
