Test 1 : Quad chart Temp testing

5

Objective: Confirm TX and RX Antenna PerformanceProcedure Name(s): UN5-COM711, UN5-COM712Completion Date: July 9, 2009, Dec 12, 2009Applicable Documents: UN5-COM711, UN5-COM712R

Notes: Use this quad chart as an outline. Provide test results. This is a quick way to show testing objectives, results and conclusions. Don’t worry about document names. One Quad chart per major testing area is an option. Pictures and data focused.

Test Setup Overview: TX antenna tuned and pattern obtained at FirstRF anechoic chamber.

Test Details: Results: TX and RX antennas have gain patterns to support com Link Budget and attitude requirements. Also confirmed in long rang testing

Open Issues: Post Long range testing during integration, the RX antenna required rework. RX antenna tuning was confirmed to be similar to that during Long range testing. This will be reconfirmed during Flight Unit system wide testing. Issue tracking as DANDE-OI-001.

RX antenna return loss tuned at FirstRF and far field pattern obtained in large open field due to lower VHF frequency. Took measurements at 40m while rotating DANDE RF EDU to obtain pattern.

Tuning and pattern results.

Objective: Confirm Com System End-to-End test Procedure Name(s): UN5-COM705Completion Date: Jan 2011Applicable Documents: UN5-COM705R, UN5-710R

Test Setup Overview: Checkout of Ground and flight side hardware and software.

Test Details:

Mission supporting data rates seen up and downlink. Used Free Space Losses to simulate 450km altitude and 15 deg elevation mask, worst case orientations

Results: Up/Downlink rates confirmed in various attitudes. Data conversation factors documented.

Updates: Post long range testing, COM305 board was populated and checked out with bench testing. COM305 Gold will be tested during complete system checkout. Open Issues: Post Long range testing during integration, the RX antenna required rework. RX antenna tuning was confirmed to be similar to that during Long range testing. This will be reconfirmed during Flight Unit system wide testing. Issue tracking as DANDE-OI-001.

TNC’s tuned and all ground station hardware in flight Ops configuration.
