FROM the Governor
It was my pleasure to have attended the “International Moose Con-
vention” held in Nashville TN. The Convention was attend by nearly
6500 moose members. The city of Nashville made us feel right at
home. Having just been through what was describe as the worse
flooding in 1000 years the people of that wonderful town did every-
thing needed to make our stay pleasant and memorable. It is also my
pleasure to announce that the Ventura Moose Lodge #1394 has
been awarded the “Platinum Premiere Lodge Award”. We can all be
proud of our lodge and for all dedicated work the award represents.
CONGRATULATIONS!
The temperature on the kitchen fund thermometer continues to
rise. I believe at this time we may be at about 25% of target. So
many members to thank. Eve’s raffle on the big screen TV was a big
success. The lucky winner was Don Lyons. Her next raffle is for a
BBQ and related items on display. Be sure to get your tickets. T
shirts are still available for $16 in the social quarters.
Brenda and Eve have been slaving away in the kitchen for days on
end. The results is a kitchen that looks new. Thank you Al, Jack,
Charles Jess. These individuals have worked night and day without
complaint. As we near our completed kitchen renovation project I
am obligated to thank these members again. Without their help and
hard work we would be no where near being done. Yes we are go-
ing to have the annual LUAU. The event will be Sept 25. We had
hoped to have the event earlier but is was just not possible.
Thank you all for the generous donations. Every bit helps. Thank
you Jerry for your contributions and thank you Jess for the donated
speakers. Kenny, Tony, Matty, thank you for fixing the lamp post.
These members set examples. They not only talk about getting
things done they get it done. I’m sure to have missed someone.
THANK YOU ALL.
Derrick

Autrey and everyone else for your Great donations. They made
our car wash a huge success. Also so a Big Thank You to Tony
and Matty for jumping in when we needed you, We couldn’t
have done it without you. Well it would have taken longer Ha,
Ha
Congrates to AL Carmona for winning the raffle. Which
brings me to the kitchen. There is still work to be done. So
please see Al if you have some free time to help out.

gust starting on the 1st and ending on the 31st at 7:30 pm. A
