SPRING ZIRAAT MESSAGE Greetings as we celebrate the spring equinox time in the northern hemisphere and the autumn equinox in the southern hemisphere. In spring we feel a renewing energy rising out of the depths of winter, as the soil warms and we witness green shoots breaking through the earth into the light of the sun. A new cycle of rebirth and vitality begins and a new hope rises. Hildegard of Bingen spoke of Viriditas—the revitalizing greening energy of the universe. As we enter a new season may we proceed with courage and hope, sowing seeds of love, harmony and beauty and renew our vision of what can be. We are reminded that the root of the word courage comes from the French ‘coeur,’ the heart. The Quran likens the earth to a spreading green prayer carpet as a gift freely given to us. How will each of us fulfill the pledge we made in pre-eternity ‘to affirm the sovereignty of the Divine on earth’. May we participate in upholding, restoring and honoring the whole of the earth as a living sacred temple/temenos. Warm Blessings, Kainat Felicia Norton Head of the International Ziraat Activity

SPRING ZIRAAT MESSAGE

Greetings as we celebrate the spring equinox time in the northern

hemisphere and the autumn equinox in the southern hemisphere.

In spring we feel a renewing energy rising out of the depths of

winter, as the soil warms and we witness green shoots breaking

through the earth into the light of the sun. A new cycle of rebirth

and vitality begins and a new hope rises. Hildegard of Bingen

spoke of Viriditas—the revitalizing greening energy of the

universe.

As we enter a new season may we proceed with courage and hope,

sowing seeds of love, harmony and beauty and renew our vision of

what can be. We are reminded that the root of the word courage

comes from the French ‘coeur,’ the heart.

The Quran likens the earth to a spreading green prayer carpet as a

gift freely given to us. How will each of us fulfill the pledge we

made in pre-eternity ‘to affirm the sovereignty of the Divine on

earth’. May we participate in upholding, restoring and honoring

the whole of the earth as a living sacred temple/temenos.

Warm Blessings,

Kainat Felicia Norton
