Description of our school and why we would like to participate in the project Open the Doors to Europe
Primary school no 1 in Sopot is the medium size school having 18 departmet . We have about 4 departments of multiability
classes were are attending special needs students. Our students come from different social background therefore our aim isto show them proper moral values as aslo teach about other European traditions and cultures.
Therefore, our school is willing to be involved in the Partnership becauese by participation in the Comenius project wewould like to help socio disadvantaged pupils to develop understanding and respect of our European neighbours and share
their own unique culture. Also what is important that our school has inclusive classes where are attending special needs andhandicapped children whom the project will for sure provide the chance of being a part of Europe by participating in asimple activities connected with creating major products of the project. Apart from this we would like to improve theunderstanding of bilingual societies by expanding their knowledge about the history and culture of the languages of the
school participating in the project. This will give pupils meaningful insight into European values.
Were thinking that its through projects like Comenius that our pupils and their famillies willbecome more open minded and that it will help them to prevent and react against acts of racism

As the result of fact we think that through project like Comenius the young participants and theirfamilies will become more open minded and that this will help us to prevent racism and xenophobia. We would like to support the development of ICT based content sevices, pedagogies and practicein lifelong learnig for all pupils by motivating them to learn and acquire new importantcompetences useful in future life(special needs students,socio-disadvantged families). Therefore wewould like to create among the young participants of the project a feeling of Being part ofEurope. The European dimension of teacher training will be enchanced by developing theeducational skills of the teaching staff by studying educational methods used in the othereducational European systems of the countries participating in the project. As also by exchangingteaching and didactical ,pedagogical materials among the teachers of participating schools. Wehope that by increasing the young participants cooperation during the team work on the projectwe are able to develop personal and social responsibility ttowatrds other students who arehandicaped, special needs students and coming from socio disadvantaged families. Showing ourstudents the Europena dimension of school and using their creativity will motivate the acquisitionof new knowledge and reduce their school boredome and wish of leaving the school too soon.
