ComCube DCA PIS pressure and LIS content frequently have to be sent in simple form to the buil -ding management system. The ComCube DCA | DCA TI provides 2 galvanically iso-lated 4-20 mA analogue outputs.

ComCube DCA is connected between the BrainCube and the LIS and PIS sensors. The 2 outputs are connected to the building management system.

ComCube is a communication module that extends the BrainCube control functiona-lity, as applied in Compresso, Transfero, Pleno and Vento. There are two types: digitalComCube DCD and analogue ComCube DCA. The two can also be used in combi-nation.

ComCube DCD

Parallel connection ofComCube DCD

and the BrainCube should consist of up to

4 BrainCube controls and 250 ComCube DCDcommunication mo du les.

The total length of the RS 485 data link should be no more than 300 m.

ComCube DCD | DCD TI is an 11-language communication module. It has 6 di gital IP inputs for registering and displaying external volt-free signals and 9 volt-free, indi-vidually configurable digital OP outputs. All outputs are individually reversible fromNO (normally open) to NC (normally closed). The graphical 8-line display and theencoder with Scroll and Select functions make it simple to operate.

ComCube DCD has two main applications:

• Up to 6 programmable external IP inputs and up to 9 OP outputs. For example, external signals can be set for temperatures as commands on the DCD outputs. For individual solutions, please contact our professional advisers.

• OP outputs of a DCD. This avoids the need for expensive software for the inter -face (Examples 1-7). If more than 9 outputs are required, more than one DCDs(up to 250!) can be connected to one BrainCube.– Individual assignment of BrainCube and ComCube messages on the OP outputs.– Individual switching of the OP outputs of the connected BrainCube control depen-

ding on PIS pressure and/or LIS content.– Status indication (on/off) of ComCube IP inputs and OP outputs.– Indication of pressure and content, and switching of the pumps and valves of the

connected BrainCube control.– Monitoring of the connected BrainCube control type.

Installed between the RS 485 of the BrainCube and the building managementsystem (Examples 1-6) or the final equipment for remote monitoring of the BrainCubecontrols (Example 7). There are many other possible applications, which cannot allbe described here.

ComCube DCD

Basic principles

ComCube is maintenance-free. Before working on the electrical components, theComCube should be shut down and placed off circuit. Pull out mains plug (1.2), orfor Transfero TI, switch off the main switch or the integrated ComCube DCD TI safe-ty cut-out.

Operating modes

For ComCube DCD | DCD TI, operating states and deviations from normal operationare indicated and can if necessary be signalled to the central monitoring station overthe digital OP outputs. In general, auto operating mode is distinguished from stand-by mode. To ensure safety at work, the ComCube DCD | DCD TI should be assumedto be in operation when in either mode.

autoAfter start-up is completed successfully, ComCube DCD | DCD TI remains in automode all year round. Before working on the connected BrainCube control, deactiva-te auto mode standby.

standbyThis operating mode is particularly suitable for maintenance work.

Standby mode can be selected manually. When in standby mode, the OP outputs areno longer actuated. However, communications are still active with the connectedBrainCube controls.

menuAll the ComCube DCD | DCD TI functions can be selected, tested and modified fromthe main menu. Data link function can also be checked here ( page 19).

checkIn the check menu, outputs can be switched manually and signal transfer to the buil-ding management system can be tested.

Auto mode is deactivated in the check menu. Messages that occur during function tests are stored in the message list.

After work is completed in the check menu, auto mode must be activated again.
