The largest food drive in the state of Iowa, Star 102.5’sCombat Hunger raised more than 232,287 meals forIowans in need in 2019. Join us as we continue to makea difference for Iowans in need!

Star 102.5 started Combat Hunger 30 years ago withone mission: help the Food Bank of Iowa provide mealsfor Iowans in need. Since then, Combat Hunger hasprovided millions of meals through the downtownencampment and food drives all across Central Iowa.

SORT FOODVolunteers sort the foodthat may need to berepackaged, labeled,counted and boxed.Sometimes our foodcomes in big quantities!

Our drivers load foodonto semi-trucks anddeliver it to PartnerAgencies such aspantries, meal sites,shelters, daycare, andmore.

Our Partner Agenciesthroughout our 55-countyservice area distribute foodin family-size quantities toIowans facing foodinsecurity.

A Virtual Food Drive is a web-based tool allowing individuals and organizations to host a fooddrive through Food Bank of Iowa’s website. Donations can be made securely online, givingeveryone on your team a chance to see the progress in real time. With just a few clicks, anyonecan purchase the most-needed items and make a difference in the lives of neighbors in need.

$1 at Food Bank of Iowa can provide up to 4 meals.Saves time and resources incurred through a physical food drive. Gives us the ability to purchase our current most-needed food items faster.Allows us to purchase perishable items like milk and eggs.
