INITIAL SITUATIONA retirement hotel rather than old people’s home: a new ambience for the residents ofAlterszentrum Lädeli.The fresh colour concept awakens emotions and has a sustainableeffect on the day-today lives of the residents.

SOLUTIONA consistent material and colour idiom is apparent throughout. The colours in all therooms are designed to be calming as well as stimulating. Green is used as a leitmotifthroughout the whole building, lending the interior authenticity and harmony. Patients inthe dementia department experience a positive effect from the systematic concept ofcolour and material, and from the light, airy fl oral curtains in particular.
