A community task force was formed with representatives from all three communities in the summer of 2019 to lead the efforts toward a recommendation that is financially responsible to the community and addresses immediate, long-term solutions for the District.
There is an immediate need for accessibility for students, staff, faculty, and visitors. In addition, the District will be meeting the demand with responsible growth and progress for the future.
There are identified ongoing issues with poor indoor air quality, safety and security, and aging infrastructure in current facilities.
The wind turbines will pay 27% of the taxes toward the total amount of the bond.

Who can vote on March 3, 2020? Anyone who is a resident within the Colo-NESCO Community School District and is a registered voter.
What will the bond cover? The bond will cover Safety + Health, Accessibility, and Security needs. View pages 4 and 5 for more information.
What is happening at the McCallsburg Facility? The McCallsburg facility recently had the gym roof replaced and updates are planned for this spring at the softball field, including making it more ADA accessible for fans and redoing the siding on the press box. The District will also continue to host the daycare and wellness center.
How were improvements prioritized for each facility? Three different assessments were completed in 2019 that identified the need to update District facilities. Next, a community-driven task force—with the help of an architecture firm—led the process to determine the immediate needs of each facility and the appropriate spending for each.
