HISTORY

Why our customers can depend on us.

Perhaps the most significant breakthrough in Collingwood’s history was in 2001 when our present day chairman, Justin Maeers, recognised the potential of LEDs in the creation of light. So convinced was he that LEDs were the future of the lighting industry, that he deviated completely from others in the industry (who were satisfied with fitting LED into existing lighting products) and created the first dedicated LED lighting product. This revolutionised the lighting industry and shaped the way we see the lighting world today. Acting as our Chief Technical Engineer Justin continues to lead our team of exceptional designers to push the boundaries and think the unthinkable when creating products to master light.

The Early Years...

196160 years after the founding of the company, the electrical division of the company called Collingwood VLM is established by Brian Maeers and Max Wilson.

1901FEC founded by Francis E Collingwood.

1922Max Wilson, nephew of Francis joined FEC.

1956 Charles Brian Maeers - Godson of Max joined FEC.

More Recently...

PresentOver a century after being established, the success continues with current Managing Director, Justin Maeers.

2001100 years after the founding of the company, the company name changed to Collingwood Lighting and LED lighting development work started.

2002Collingwood Lighting launched its first range of purpose built LED lighting to Electrical Wholesale.

Halers Lighting established and became part of Collingwood Lighting in 2012.

2011Collingwood acquires French company Seelight SASU, now called Collingwood Lighting France.

2010Now distributing in 15 countries around the world.

2006Collingwood distributes lighting in Australia and Sweden.

2013Collingwood opensCollingwood Lighting Deutschland.
