Where: Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) interrogation room
Who: Daniel Chong, then an engineering student at UC San Diego
What: Daniel Chong was mistakenly left in a Drug Enforcement Administration
interrogation room for 5 days without food or water
Why: This unfortunate incident happened due to the carelessness of the DEA officers
How: Chong and eight suspects were taken into custody for interrogation as they
were suspected for abusing ecstasy pills and hallucinogenic mushrooms and
possessing weapons and ammunition. However, for reasons that remain unclear, onlyChong was left in the interrogation room for 5 days.

3. What have you learnt from this article?From this article, Ive learnt the importance of staying away from troubles as far
as possible. Though Chong obviously did not commit the crimes that the DEA had
suspected him for, he did put himself into that situation by leaving the campus
and smoke marijuana with his friends. Despite the fact that smoking marijuana is
legal in some countries, the fact that he and his friends had to leave the campus
to smoke marijuana shows that at least as a college student, it is not right to
smoke marijuana. Had he not followed his friends, he would not have been
involved in a DEA raid. So although this is an unfortunate and rather rare incident
(or accident, I should say), it could have been avoided, totally. Sadly, this was NOT
the case for Chong.
