We have an event filled with activities to raise awareness of beauty therapy
and spa and where it can lead to. We would like you to consider what qualities
are needed within this demanding industry and what your potential earnings
could be. We would like you to share this workbook with your parents or
guardians to inform them of the opportunities open to you within the Beauty
and Spa sector.

Have you considered University to gain a Degree and progress to a Masters
and beyond?
Level 1 Hair and Beauty Full time, modules could include a basic introduction to: skin
care, facials, make-up, manicure, nail art, shampooing, blow dry hair, styling women’s hair,
temporary hair colour, plaiting and twisting hair, creating an image and health and safety
Level 2 Beauty Therapy Full time, modules could include: Facials, manicure,
pedicure, waxing, eye treatments: lash & brow tinting, false lashes, brow shaping, make-up,
effective team work, health and safety, promoting products and treatments
Level 3 Beauty Therapy Full time, modules could include: Improve the face and skin
condition using electrotherapy, Indian head massage, marketing, salon manager, body
massage, hot stone therapy, massage using pre-blended aromatherapy oils
Level 4/5 FdSc (Foundation Degree) International Spa Management, can top
up to a BSc Modules could include: You will study modules such as: International Spa
Concept, Applied Spa Skills, Academic Study Skills, Finance in the Service Industries,
Anatomy and Physiology, Human Resource Management for the Service Industries, Spa
Experiences and Treatments, Advanced Spa Skills, Research Skills, Marketing in the Service
Industries, Business Development and Entrepreneurship, Spa Cuisine: Concepts and
Philosophies
Level 6 BSc (Hons) Degree International Spa Management Full or part time,
modules could include: You'll study modules such as: International Spa Concept, Massage
Techniques, Academic Study Skills, Finance in the Service Industries, Anatomy and
Physiology, Human Resource Management for the Service Industries, Spa Experiences and
Treatments, Specialised Massage Techniques, Research Skills, Marketing in the Service
Industries, Business Development and Entrepreneurship, Balanced Nutrition and Spa
Cuisine, Independent Study, Contemporary Issues, Spa Operations Management, Strategic
Management, Spa Design, Spa Treatments: Evolution and Innovation
Level 7 MSc Masters International Spa Management Full or part time, module
could include: Spa Operations and Project Management, The Spa Consumer, Research
Methodologies, Integrated Business Management (double module), Strategic Directions,
Independent Scholarship (triple module) - on this module you will develop your analytical
and critical skills while investigating in detail a service sector topic of your choice.
