MEET THE PRESENTER

Robert Hackenson Jr. - Professional Speaker & Edutainer

After graduating from Western New England University, Robert Hackenson Jr. earned his MBA and Certificate in Advanced Organizational Leadership (CAOL) from Nichols College. Robert is also a professional magician and studied Neural Linguistic Programming (NLP), body language, and became a Certified Hypnotist through the National Guild of Hypnotists. Bully Prevention Training Rob was trained and certified as a facilitator by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and was also a facilitator and speaker for the MIAA YouLead program. DYNAMIC INFLUENCE IS FOUNDED

In 2004 Rob founded Dynamic Influence after seeing a unique opportunity to use his dynamic skills of hypnosis, magic and illusions to engage and educate. It is his belief that merely lecturing to students results in glazed eyes, and the important messages are lost. Instead, Rob “edutains” students by using his skills of magic, hypnosis, and illusions to deliver the important lessons in a memorable fashion.

THE NEED FOR BULLYING PREVENTION

Students, teachers, and parents all need to be educated on the lessons of bullying prevention. Many believe that bullying is “just a normal part of life” or “something that can’t be changed,” but it can. With the right lessons on what do to when being targeted by a bully, when you see bullying happening, and what you can do to create a bully control zone. When students, parents, and teachers are all on the same page, change can happen.

THE ISSUE

Some believe that bullying only happens when you are kids, but this is a myth. In fact a recent college survey out of the University of Buffalo showed that 18.5% of college student surveyed said they have been bullied, 22% have been cyber-bullied, 38% knew someone who was cyber-bullying and 9% admitted to cyber-bullying someone.

Beyond these statistics, many college students are unfamiliar with the different types of bullying such as emotional bullying, don't understand why cyber bullying is so dangerous, and don’t believe there is anything they can do to stop it. This needs to change.

THE MISSION

This is an educational presentation that takes your students through a rollercoaster of emotions, creates bullying awareness, and challenges them to take a stand against all types of bullying. Students who are bullied can’t be the only ones to take a stand against bullying. Whether its emotional bullying amongst roommates or classmates, or witnessing cyber bullying, if students stand together they can make a huge difference to the culture on your campus.

REFERENCE

After experiencing issue on campus around bullying and cyber bullying we were looking for a speaker that could raise awareness amongst our students, however we wanted someone that wasn’t just going to lecture. It was a pleasure working with Rob and his ability to tie in the important lessons with his magic and hypnosis was amazing. He used just the right mixture of education and entertainment that made it engaging without losing the messages. He was able to focus on all of the important points we wanted to get across, gave something for the students to think about, and kept their attention the entire time while doing so. I would highly recommend this presentation. Also, as a smaller college it can be difficult to get students to attend an educational lecture. RIDER / REQUIREMENTS

Staging:

Stage or riser with a minimum surface area of 12’x24.’ If risers are used, it is best to ensure these risers are sturdy without any cracks between the sections and for the riser to be flush up against a wall. If the performance is on the ground floor without a stage it is important that the audience will be able to clearly view the stage area.

This edutainment presentation will require 5 armless chairs.
