…but planning and researching takes
time
What about a gap year? You could:
• Explore the world
• Work
• Volunteer
• Attend a semestered school to complete your credits or upgrade a course
Of course there is post-secondary education:
• College
• University
• Apprenticeship programs
• A collaborative program e.g. College/University partnership

• What programs interest you?
• Would an applied degree with coop opportunities in a college be better for you?
• Which subjects are you good at? Build on your strengths
• Do you want to stay at home or go away? Does class size matter?
• Check the admission requirements and what you will be studying.
• Don’t only research your “dream” schools… have a variety of options… include some “sure things”, and always have a backup plan

• High School Diploma (OSSD): 30 Credits, successful literacy test, 40 hours of community service
For University:• 6 Grade 12 U or M courses
– Gr. 12 English (ENG4U) plus– 5 additional 4U/4M courses
• Each program may determine prerequisite 4U/M courses as well as a minimum average . (Note: actual cutoffs may be higher)
For College:• OSSD• Check myblueprint or Ontario College Application Service
website for additional requirements.
