Cube Lens is a 12 meter cube pavilion to display a collection of lenses as a kit to see a city in a new way. Lenses are utilized in three ways to frame specific views of the city. The city is seen as specific individual parts rather than a whole entity, bringing a new richness to the parts of the city that are on display.
The structure is seen as a solid black object from the street, but upon entering is a hollow structure with pathways to explore different views.
The pavilion is constructed of scaffolding with 120 wooden faade panels that are made to fit into the framework given by the structure. The scaffolding pieces are a product that can be rented in every city, reducing the need for transportation of heavy materials. The wooden panels are meant to be moved and re-arranged onto a different scaf-folding structure in different cities, to provide a different experience in each city with the same materials.

Chicago:
This site in Chicago is located along the busy Michigan Avenue at the Chicago River.
The small footprint of the building is able to occupy a much larger portion of the city by framing specific views.

This series of pools frames the presence and subtle changes of water on a site that was once part of Lake Michigan. The project excavates the site to bring the water back into its previous territory, pulling it through programmatic bands: a natural filter, outdoor pools, interior pools, and then hot baths.
Recycled concrete sidewalk pieces are used as the building material. These objects that were eroded, and ren-dered obsolete by water create an irregular framework for water to flow through and around.
Water level changes are registered by the projecta flat plane of water permeates the sites uneven ground plane, forming pools below and land above. The water level is controlled to support a variety of aquatic pro-grams. When the water level is at a low point, rigidly formed pools are revealed for lap swimming, and shal-low points become islands in recreational pools. As the water level rises, the pools combine into one body of water. The surface plane of the water masks the topographic changes in the ground below.

Land was built up, out of Lake Michigan, with debris from the Chicago Fire. Using recycled concrete side-walks as a building material connects the history of the site with its present condition.

The Montessori teaching method is characterized by an em-phasis on independence, freedom, and the natural develop-ment of each child. Children learn at their own pace through the use of specifically designed teaching tools. Their educa-tion is not a rigid thing, and they do not need a rigid class-room. Instead of lining the walls with the specific elements required in each Montessori classroom, these elements are allowed to move freely when possible and create the pos-sibility for spaces that change and grow with the children.

The bridge, in its most basic sense, is in conflict with the sea, providing an alternative to making direct contact with the body of water, but the native Venetian does not have this instinct against the sea. Bridges in Venice have been taken over by tourists who find familiarity in solid ground while the natives sneak in the background, dancing through the city on land and water.
Give the Bridges back to the Venetian.
The New Bridges dance the dance between stone and water, weaving through the streets and canals of the residential edges of Venice. They provide the cultural and infrastructural benefits of urban life that Venice has been missing as a static city, frozen in time as a relic for tourism. New campos are created with pro-grams that are a part of every day life, and a slate for a new cultural identity of Venice is left in the hand of the resident.

The building support is read on the exterior of the building as separate volumes plugged into the brick wall.
Multi-use space is divided by a ramp, al-lowing for different possibilities within the room a classroom, a display case, and dif-ferent social spaces.

The building is a living collective for political activists. The site, Place de la Rpublique is an important place in Paris for gathering and demonstrating. There are two identities for the building that of the collective which is oriented towards Place de la Rpublique, and that of each individual which is oriented towards the small streets in front of the site.

From Place de la Rpublique the view of the building is made up of the communal spaces and the sides of the individual spaces. Upon approaching the building, the front of the individual spaces, and thus the identity of each individual unit is re-vealed.
The Northern side is composed of collective spaces aligned N-S to face Place de la Rpublique, and individual units aligned NW-SE to face the adjacent side street.
The Southern side is inversely aligned to achieve the same relations between commu-nal spaces and Place de la Rpublique, and Indivudual units with the adjacent side street.

Architecture is experienced sequentially, and with five senses. There is an element of time and sound that is lost in drawings. These studies explore the perceptions of distinct spatial conditions through the moving picture.

I Froze Time Ten Times This TimeDuration - 3:27This video is an investigation of the componets and percep-tions of a still image compared with that of a moving image. Each durational clip was converted into a single image by a scanner. This scanning process also which creates a still image also has a durational aspect to it, creating an image which shows the fluid motion of the video.
///Duration - 0:48This video contrasts the sharp image of a machined cor-rugated wall, with the soft visions of nature. It explores the curous dissoreinting nature of the sharp and exact images with the grounding organic and unfocused images.
