SUMMARY

I am an enthusiastic Media and Communications graduate with a broad-based background in Public Relations, Retail and Hospitality. My educational experience has encompassed a personal eagerness to learn with an exceptional work ethic.

From 2012 to 2013 I gained real media experience within my role as intern for the Foundation for Regional Development. My role in the organisation, as media intern, consisted of the assistance in online communications, development in creating a digital footprint, generating and publishing weekly newsletters, press releases, and contribution to the strategic integration within their marketing plan. This included reviewing publications and promotional material prior to being released. My internship enabled me to develop key communication skills and a passion for all-things communications.

During my time at university, I learnt the importance of deadlines. I also gained the motivation for self-improvement and the pursuit of knowledge. As Social officer for the University of New England Economics Society (UES), I contributed to developing online and social media channels, and the creation and distribution of promotional materials. I desire to prove that the skills and traits I acquired from university are the tools needed to show my commitment to completing all future career goals.

2012- 2013 Media Intern - Foundation for Regional Development, Armidale, NSWDuties included working with online and offline communications, and with industry specialists to ensure marketing and communications strategy was maintained, and the message consistent for the Country and Regional Living Expo. Event management and presentation skills were utilized in running presentations and media interviews. Phone and computer skills were needed for liaising with media and generating contacts for the event.
