The Little Rascals School Daycare The 2013/2014 school year and school daycare began with many excited children! I am very

happy to be back working with the children after a short, but sweet, maternity leave, and am

looking forward to an eventful, fun filled year! We have 10 children registered, from pre-k

through grade 2. So far this year, we've had a rainbow spaghetti lunch, painted with our feet,

created puppet shows and have had several great laughs… there is so much more to come!

September 30th School Assembly:

Speaking and Writing

Presentations

Part of the cross-country course!

Cross Country 2013. Way to go, Jersey! Theatre Sports Initially developed by two teachers from Innisfail, Alberta, Theatre Sports is an improvisational acting/speaking program that is currently underway in the Secondary one and two English Language Arts class. Team Secondary One (The Blue Shadows) competes against Team Secondary Two (The Uni-tatoes). As the actors from Geordie Productions told their audience during their October 1st visit, this type of acting experience will help the students get into the character quickly and will certainly improve their self-confidence and imagination. An added benefit, I believe, is that it also develops team-work relationships and storytelling opportunities, which will make students more comfortable when doing any form of public speaking.

Our 20th year of Pace in St-Augustine started mid-September with ten children registered; four 1 year olds, two 2 year olds and four 3 year olds for a total of ten children. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome back Cruz, Sawyer, Riley, Porsha, Jaxon and Kai as well as our newcomers in the 1 year old group, Khloe, Jaeleigh, Maverick and Mia. To commemorate our 20th year we will be having a couple of special activities this year, one of which will take place at the end of the Pace year in March and will include all of the children/parents who have participated in the Pace program since its existence in 1994. I am looking for pictures from the earlier years of Pace so if anyone has any that they wouldn’t mind sharing, I would really appreciate it. Let’s all work together to make this Pace year the best one ever!!! Ann Fequet, Pace Animator

Groupe Accessibilité St-Augustine Having a disability is a challenge faced by many individuals in our society today. The Groupe Accessibilité of St-Augustin would like to encourage any adult or child who has a disability and their families, not to give up, but to rather face life head on. We are very much aware that in our region resources are limited, but we cannot give up or stop trying to acquire these services. Everyone with a disability is a valuable member of society and deserves the right to access services that will meet their individual needs. We offer our support to all our members and any persons with a disability along the Lower North shore region. If you have any questions about our organization or to request our support please e-mail us at [email protected]. We would love to hear from you!!! Susie Martin Groupe Accessibilité St-Augustin
