Cognitive strategies.Purpose: to provide a structure

for learning that actively promotes the comprehension and retention of knowledge through the use of engaging strategies thet acknowledge the brains limitations of capacity and processing.

This are one type of learning strategies that learners use to in order to learn more succesfully. These include repetition , organising new languges , sumarising meaning , guession meaning from the contest using imágens for memorisation.

Example: A learner remebers new words by visualising them represented in a memorable or ridiculous sitation

In the classroom:activities which can be described as cognitives strategies include making mind maps, visualisations, association, usin clues in reading comprehension,scannig and self testing and monitoring.

Metacognitive strategiesPurpose: the purpose of teaching

metacognitve strategies is to provide to students explicit teacher instruction for a specific strategies.

This provides students an easy to follow procedure for solving particular things

This metacognitive strategies are subjective
