From Bach to the Tango as well as the players’ original compositions and arrangements, this ensemble strives not only to entertain, but also to challenge the musical expectations of their audience. Through their diligence and thoughtful programming, the Cochran-Wrenn duo maintains high standards of excellence with each new performance. Bonnie Cochran has a Master's degree in flute performance from Boston Conservatory. An avid chamber musician, Bonnie founded The Amaryllis Chamber Ensemble in 2000 and performs regularly with that ensemble. She has also performed with the New Bedford Symphony, Willow Flute Ensemble, Boston Civic Symphony Orchestra, Metrowest Symphony and the National Flute Association (NFA) Professional Flute Choir. Bonnie was a 2004 winner of the NFA's Convention Performer Competition, where she performed the newly rediscovered CPE Bach Concerto in D Major. Other solo appearances include a performance of the Bach Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 with the Waldorf School Orchestra (March 2006) and Chaminade's Concertino with the Agnes Scott College Orchestra (1998). Her primary flute teachers have included Linda Toote, Elinor Preble and Paul Brittan. As a recording artist, Bonnie regularly records both student and faculty compositions for Berklee College of Music, including many film scores. Her compositions have been performed in numerous concerts across the United States including performances at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall (2005), the Greater Boston Flute Association Flute Fair (2002), Washington State Capitol (2008), MIT and Harvard University. Bryan Wrenn has a master's degree in guitar performance from the New England Conservatory of Music, where he studied with world-renowned guitar virtuoso Eliot Fisk. Prior to his time at NEC, he attended Assumption College in Worcester, MA, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree and studied classical guitar with Peter Clemente. He has also studied electric guitar and jazz theory/improvisation with Joe D’Angelo and Steve Trombley. In addition to his private studies, he has performed in master classes for Pepe Romero, Benjamin Verdery, Jason Vieaux, and Lorenzo Micheli. He works frequently as a soloist, having played in numerous venues throughout New England, including Mechanics Hall in Worcester, MA. Bryan is honored to be performing the Rodrigo Concierto de Aranjuez as a soloist with Syphony Pro Musica in May 2011. He has also performed as an orchestral guitarist throughout central Massachusetts for such groups as the Worcester Jazz Orchestra, Wachusett Theater Company, Foothills Theater, Theater at the Mount, and Worcester County Light Opera. He is also active in music education, both as a freelance instructor and at the David French Music Company in Westborough, MA, where he has taught for the last five years.
