Principal’s Report

Our year 5 and 6 students are still away at Lake Keepit and

by all accounts they are having a great time. We look for-

ward to hearing about their adventures when they return.

Following discussion with the school executive, a decision

has been reached to not hold the final parent planning

non-teaching staff with a priority to ensure that classes are

collapsed as few times as possible whilst enabling staff to

participate in professional learning and to access their

entitlements.

With the above in mind our 2017- school plan will not

change significantly from the current plan. For input into the

plan and feedback on our progress towards our targets please

attend either the P&C or AECG meetings.

Have a great weekend.

Book Club

Scholastic has been updating on how to order Book Club.

There is a new system called Linked Ordering Online and

Payment system for parents or carers to order. (LOOP for

short).

Just go online to the Scholastic website, go to the parenting

payment section, choose Book Club and order what books

you would like and pay with your credit card. You do not

need to send any forms back to school. Scholastic will

notify Mrs Whiteman that you have placed an order and

the books will be sent out with all of the other orders.

If, you need any help to order on line or you have any

questions please call via the front office.

I am also more than happy to accept order forms at school

and can do the ordering for you, if you prefer this way.

Orders will need to be back to school by Wednesday 30th

November, Week 8. This is Issue 8.

Will Oborn

RESPONSIBLE RESPECTFUL

LEARNER

Dylan Canavan

Jaidyn Connolly

Ernie was thrilled to see the brilliant

effort of Will Oborn at the bus

lines. Will always walks safely to his

bus and stands patiently in line. He

is mindful of others when walking

onto the bus. Amazing effort Will!

Jaidyn Connolly

Dylan is a wonderful addition to K/1C

and Cobar Public School. He uses a

polite voice at all times and does as

he is asked. He always shares school

equipment with other students and

wears his school uniform every day.

He follows the 5L's in all settings.

Ernie has made the BIG announcement! Jaidyn

deserves the LEARNER award this week as she

always participates to the best of her ability in all

activities. Jaidyn takes great pride in her work and

consistently produces quality work. Each week, she

completes extra homework to improve her results.

Well done Jaidyn.

Receiving Eco Schools Grant Funding for CPS…

The NSW Environmental Trust approved an Eco Schools Grant of $3,500 for our 2017 project entitled

Indigenous Garden for Learning.

Mr Humphries, the Member for Barwon, presented the grant at assembly last week. Mr Humphries said CPS is one of 80 out

of 212 schools to receive funding in this cycle of grants and is the only school in the western area to be granted such funding.

The aim of the project is to establish an indigenous native and bush tucker garden adjacent to the existing vegetable garden

and orchard to increase the biodiversity of a currently unused area in our playground and increase productivity in the nearby

food garden.

It is anticipated the project will engage students, the whole school community and outside of school groups to

involve them in the establishment, maintenance and benefits of gardening. It will enhance the school grounds and provided an

additional activity space for our Aboriginal Dreaming Day program.
