your strengths? What are your coaching goals?
There is no “best” Philosophy

Coaching Philosophy
• Example of Stephan W Philosophy – ref swim coaching bible
• My coaching philosophy is entirely centered on the athlete. Every coaching action has to be about the swimmers and about maximizing their individual potential. (Swim coaching Bible vol III p97)
Coaching Philosophy
• Holistic coaching Philosophy
• The process-driven approach of progression teaches young swimmers worthwhile skills not only in the arena of sport but also in life. As a coach, I hold true to a holistic coaching philosophy when preparing my swimmers. It consists of more than simply devising and supervising the technical and physiological aspects of training. I want to provide a positive environment where athletes can grow, learn, and become wise and responsible global citizens. Swimming involves so much more than winning medals and doing personal best times.

My coaching Philosophy – 12 months ago..
Josh Smith – Coaching philosophy
Toughness development is greater than talent.
Honest self-analysis for athletes is the only way to build the complete athlete.
Points of difference in the program are essential to being the best.
Respect effort above all else.
The greatest people in the world learn to work hard and be tough.
Young people do not need to fully commit to the sport, however they need to fulfill their commitment.
I believe by being tough, self evaluating and producing your best efforts through smart effective training you will realise your full potential.
Why is that my philosophy
• Why I coach?
• What are my values?
• What are my interests and strengths?
• Best possible self?
