Modular Screw Systems

The most important feature of twin-screw extruders is having too much processed product variety. Screw geometries creates process in extruders. Therefore, appropriate screw configuration needs to be create according to the material to be produced. Being disperse the desired values of the processed materials, determines the physical and chemical properties.

You can make your production much more efficient with screw configurations that we are going to create together.

If you sort the advantages of modular screw system;

• Despite low engine power and L / D ratio at extruder, the highproduction capacity occurs.

• At extruder screw group, only wearing or broken parts changes. Therefore instead of intervention in all screws, local intervention is made.

• Screw group changes in a very short time at extruder. Screw extruder becomes active again as a result of a few hours of work in the company without sending it to the manufacturer. Thus, machine production begins in the minimum stop time.

• Screw shapes are designed according to the process, thus the portfolio of processed polymer expands.

• Since mixing capacity is very high, by using filled and regenerated material, you can make saving from materials.

• Because special heat treatment is applied to modular screws, their life span is longer.

• The homogeneity of material is higher due to its high mixing ability.

• Since extruder shaft is a single piece, it is resistant against the forces of the dynamic shear and torsion than the old type extruder. The old type single screw extruders are produced with inverted threaded screws. This leads to breaking of the screw at the insertion points due to the cutting force. In modular screw system, due to this reasons break won’t be occur.

In twin-screw extruder mixing process can be applied to Organics (stabilizers, processing aids, etc..), Inorganics (fillers, flame retardants, etc.), Polymerics (compatible raw materials, rubber, etc..) Twin-screw extruders has a area of use ranging from plastic for food, paint manufacture to special formulation studies, cosmetics to pharmaceuticals.
