We are not allowed toget down in front of herbecause she will jump in lapand cuddle with you. Shestays in the L.R.C. With Mrs.Vroeugh. When Mrs.Vroeugh isn’t here she laysdown to Mrs. Baldwin. Herfavorite thing to do when sheis in the office is to take a nap.I think it is good that allClinton Community Schoolshave therapy dogs, becausesome kids don’t have pets athome and they still get theexperience.

When I Got LucyWhen Lucy and I first met

we were looking for a dog atthe pound. My brothers andmy dad were looking at thebig dogs so my brotherDalton and I went to go lookat the smaller dogs, and wewent to look at Lucy too. Sowe went to get my grandmaso she could look at her. Mythought she was cute. Shewas cute to my dad too. Mygrandma decided to get Lucyinstead of any of the otherdogs. So she went up to thecounter to talk to the guy whoworks there. So my brothersand I went to go look at therabbits, hamsers, and cats.We all got a hamster so wehad to go to the store to getsome cages, food, and bed-ding. We were playing withour hamsters on the way backto our house. We had to waita week until we got Lucy. Sowe went to pick her up andwe got in the van with her andwe started playing with her.When we got home, we had to

let her to get used to her sur-roundings so we took her on awalk. We went inside to letget used to the house. Thenwe ate dinner, had ice cream,and then went to bed. I wasso happy I got a new dog!By Jacey

Riding BearThe first day I went out to

Cathy’s house I was kind ofscard to see what would hap-pen. When I got there, I firstgot to know Cathy then shetook me to see Bear. He waseating in his stall. I got to goin. Cathy told me to pet andtalk to Bear. Bear is a bay.Bays usually are brown withblack socks and a black maneand tail. Bear also has a whiteblaze and some white socks.That first day I got to rideBear! He was a stinker. Hetried to cut to make the circlesmaller. It was hard to keephim in one spot for long.Week after week after weekhe tried to cut. Then, oneweek he stopped so then Icould start to lope or canter.But I didn’t want to so I did-n’t. I didn’t lope until 2 or 3weeks later. We were out inthe cornfield and Cathy saidthat she wanted to lope. Sothen she loped and I did aquick trot. Then she kept ontelling me to go faster. I kepton kicking and the a rockyride came and we did that fora while. It felt very differentto me but now it’s very fun.When we stopped Cathy saidyou did it! I was so happy.Then we got to a part wereshe unhooked Bear and I. But

we had to stay close to her.Then it got to a point thatBear would stand at the gateand wait until Cathy wouldcome and get him. He lovesto go on rides. Then one dayCathy called and asked if Iwanted to go on a trail ride.We went to Eagle Point Park.We rode around for 2 hours.It was really fun. Now I justam waiting to ride again.By Hailey

One day when we wereleaving balloons in June Ifound 15 dollars on theground.

It was the luckiest day inmy life. I was so happy. Icouldn’t believe that someonejust left 15 dollars on theground.

For my 10th birthday Iwent to Michigan to visit myaunt, uncle, and cousins. Wewent hunting for a deer, butwe got two or three. Weplayed tag in the backyard,and we jumpted on the tram-poline with a sprinkler underit.

Afterwards, we rode on therace car track with a four-wheeler. Then we took thefour-wheeler up a big hill to

see the view. When we gotback, dinner was ready. Itwas delicious.

The next day we had break-fast and went fishing for awhile. It rained for some ofthe time we were fishing.Luckily, my mom stayedhome with my sister. Shewould have been screamingand running around.

On our last day atMichigan, we went fishingagain for a little bit. Then wehad to pack up to leave.When we were going homeKaylee was screaming and itwas getting dark. My dadwas off work by the time wegot home. I was happy I gotto see my aunt, uncle, andcousins.By Ethan

When I went on VacationIt all started when I woke

up this morning. I couldn’twait to go to White birchVillage. I had a lot of fun thelast year. The only bad thinsis that it was a seven hourdrive, but we had a portableTV to watch on the way so itwasn’t all that bad. On theway there my sister and I gotin a fight but we figuredthings out. I was tired ofbeing cramped in my momscar, so me and my sister start-ed to take pictures of dear andbald eagles and all kinds ofartifacts.

When I got there Iunpacked my things. I askedmy mom, dad, and sister andmy Aunt Korren and UncleFrank but they all said no. Idisided to ask my mom toplay shuffle board and Jess

what she said yes, but aftershe’s don doing the londry.After that we played and Ibeat her big time. She lost bya lot. Then we played basket-ball. I wond at that to. ThenI asked again if we could goin the hot tub. It was boringbecause there was nothing todo, so I held my breath underthe hot water. I was hot. Iheld my breath for 8 secondswhen I took my face out ofthe water my face was red.Then my dad had to go in totown so I came with when wewent and got gas for the boat.I found some big squirt guns,so I asked to get them to usein the lake and in the hot tub.Oh! And I also got some beefjerky to eat.

When we got back to thecabin my sister and I got inthe hot tub. I showed her thatI got some water guns. I saidthat we could have a watergun fight in the hot tub. Afterthat my sister was going toleave so I decided to stay.After I left I played shuffleboard with my mom again.When I went to the pond. Ifound a girl catching frogsand I wanted to catch some to.So I asked if I could helpcatch some. At first the frogsfelt weird and gooey. We allwent for down the pond andgot like fifty frogs. Thenwhen we got back to thebeach we played with ourfrogs then let them go. WhenI got back to the cabin I said,“do we really have to gohome tomorrow?” My momsaid, “She didn’t want to goeither”. Whale continued on the SeaTurtle’s. When he got therehe told him they had beeninvited to Shark’s party.“Cool!” replied Sea Turtle.

The next morning SeaTurtle swam over to Whale’sden. Whale got up and theyheaded off for the party.“Like my tux?” Whale asked.

“Sure Do,” answered Seaturtle. “Hey, where’s Shark?Oh, I see him on the dancefloor,” exclaimed Sea Turtle.“Let’s go join him.”

Soon they started to get allstarted to get their groove andjam, especially Whale.Whale was dancing so wellthat everyone else steppedback and watched him. Mouseand squirrel ran in the oppo-site direction. So the manwent looking for the snakeagain. When he saw himagain, he threw his knife it hitthe snake’s tongue. Thesnake was hurt and slitheredaway. The man left the forestand the snake found hisfriends and told them whathad happened. The snake wasso embarrassed by the way henow talked. When he talkedto other snakes they thoughthis words came out of hismouth with a hissing sound.So the other snakes decided tomake that same hissingsound. That is why snakeshave a split tongue and hisswhen you see them.

Long ago there was a dadbear and a mom bear. Oneearly morning, dad bear wentto work and on his way home,he took a shortcut and sawtwo pigs in the mud. Dadbear asked what their nameswere and they said Chip andDail and then they bothsplashed mud on dad bear’sshirt. Dad bear said it was ok.It was just an accident and itwill wash right out. Why It Thunders andRains During Storms

Before people had electricinstruments, there was a kidnames Quenzaya III. He hadtwo friends named Jakamonand Shondon. They wereplaying King of the Hill onand bolder they found thatmorning. Shondon was ontop and yelled, “I am the Kingnow, open your thoughts tome!!!” The moment he saidthe last word, there was an earshattering crack. Shondonhad disappeared. Jakamonwas so worried, he started tocry.

That night after they toldtheir moms they met by therock, Quenzaya III said,“Why don’t we do exactlywhat he did?”

“Sure let’s try it,” saidJakamon. They scrambled tothe rock and shouted...”I AMTHE KING, NOW OPENYOUR THOUGHTS!” Allof a sudden they were in atent with Shondon. The firstthing they saw was therecorder that Shondon wastalking into. They asked,“What is that device thatmakes everyone smile andgiggle. There are two instru-ments over there that Ihaven’t tried yet. Shondonpicked up the banjo and start-ed to play a partal opened.But no one noticed and it dis-appeared. Quenzaya IIIplayed bongos and they start-ed to shake. Then all of asudden, they cried with panic.Quenzaya stopped and theydidn’t remember anything atall. Quenzaya played thebanjo and took them to therock again. He then went to adoctor but the doctor said itcouldn’t he helped. So hetried potions that made himsick and sleepy so their eye-balls fell out of their heads.

So he went to a potions mas-ter and he gave them a darkblack potion and theyreturned to normal. Afterthey heard the whole store,they got mad and opened theportal, threw Quenzaya in,and they could only hear thethunder and cries fromQuenzaya. They took him to the vetand he said that now that hehas a human the love grewthat thing. Then he said thatthey would call it a tail.

years ago, Zeus accidentlystruck a hawk egg with a mixof mystical energy and light-ening. The egg grew to be thesize of its mother. Zeusthought it would be no prob-lem, but, and I hesitate to saythis about a god, he was terri-bly wrong.

When the baby hawk,that I like to call ThunderBird, (you’ll find out why Icall it that very soon), grewup and left the nest. It set thetree that it used to live in onfire by striking it with light-ning. It was angry at its

mother for kicking it out ofthe next, even though it didn’ttechnically live in the nest. Ithad grown to be the size of aT-rex and had to sleep on theground. It made it rain in thevillage so much that it flood-ed. It set an entire village onfire with bolts of lightning.Then it went to another vil-lage and made a 500 foot talltornado. The village wasdestroyed within 5 minutes.In another village, it madehail the size of cannon balls.It hailed for 5 hours. When itstopped, the village was asgood as destroyed. The thun-der bird was enjoying this. Itwent to a Native Americanvillage and tried somethingeven Zeus hadn’t tried. Itpulled clouds over itself tohide him.
