Pastor Paul

“God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it, so that there should be no division in the body, but that its part should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the Body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” (1Corinthians 12:24-27)

Jesus came in mortal flesh and blood. He lived this earthly life in the Body, in His own Body, and among those whom He would gather together and call “The Body of Christ.” Why would he identify us in such a way? Because we share the same mission.

Now, to be clear, we have different parts to play within the mission. Jesus is the Savior. We are his followers. Followers of Christ are not simply believers, they are Doers of the Word. And so, throughout the season of Lent, during our mid-week services we will spend some time contemplating The Body of Christ.

We will consider His body, where he went, what he did, the many ways in which He touched so many lives, all that the Body of Christ has done for us. And we will consider the calling upon us to BE the Body of Christ in this place.

So make plans to join us, you and your whole family, for our mid-week special Lenten

services.

God’s Peace,

Pastor Paul

President

March means it is spring. Traditionally, that means time for “spring cleaning.” Time to get rid of things that we no longer want or need and start anew. That idea ties in nicely with the church calendar, because March is also Lent. Time to reflect on the precious gift of salvation from Jesus, and what it cost Him. Traditionally, some churches focus on giving up something for Lent. An alternative is to start doing something for Lent. How about getting more into the Word? We’ve been doing the Story now for most of the year. Lent might be a great time to supplement our spiritual diet by not only reading the weekly chapter in The Story, but also digging deeper into one of the topics for that week by reading the fuller account in the Bible. As I look out my backyard, I see signs of growth everywhere. As I reflect on our status at Hosanna, I see signs of how God is continuing to bless us. Worship services are well attended. Enrollment in Little Palms is growing. Baptisms are being planned. We enjoy great music in our services. We continue to serve and reach out to our community. We continue to make progress financially. We truly have much to be thankful for. On behalf of Council, I want to thank all of you for helping make Hosanna the loving and caring place that we are. Happy Lent!

Blessings,

Paul SteinbartPresident, Hosanna Council

Treasurer

February receipts have been counted, recorded, deposited, and the verdict is in – February receipts dropped substantially from one year ago. We praise God that our anticipated expenses are lower this year although in both January and February there was an unexpected expense to cover. Pray for generous support to overflow in March. We praise God for those who continue to diligently support the Campus Development Fund. It is through your financial pledge that we are able to reduce the outstanding balance on the mortgage. Thank God for this blessing. Pre-school receipts are in line with the past few years. This reassures us that the school is providing an excellent education and drawing the community to our campus. More great news is that deposits are being received committing to the 2015 trip to Israel. The Lord is moving Hosanna in a positive, exciting direction. Please continue to pray for and financially support our ministry. I thank God for all of you and enjoy the privilege of serving Hosanna as your treasurer.

Board of Stewardship

We are going into the second month of the 'Pink Envelope' campaign. The Board of Stewardship would like to thank the members of Hosanna who have begun using them. Be sure to put your offering envelope number on your pink envelope if you want credit on your financial statement for the year. There is a space dedicated on the pink envelope for your number on the lower right hand corner.

As of February 23rd we have received $350 in memorials/celebrations. Praise God for all He Blesses us with each day!

As we look forward to Lent and what that means to the children, we reflect on this year so far. We have had so much fun and learned so much. We celebrated our 100th day of school. We have 100 things we learned from the children’s point of view hanging on the walls, if you get a chance to wander into the Learning Center, please take a moment to read some of the quotes. They made us laugh and reflect how Jesus has touched each and every one of their hearts. We had a Valentine’s party and got to learn that the real meaning of Valentine’s was sharing Jesus’ love.

As we prepare for Easter, we will be working with the kids to understand just how special each one is to Jesus. We will be concentrating on His resurrection and what that means to us. One of the fun things will be going to Chapel with the congregation during the Lenten season.

We are all preparing for Spring Break when our kiddos can spend some time having fun with their families. This will give all of us a chance to rejuvenate and come back ready to learn and Celebrate Easter.

This year has gone so fast, it is hard to believe we only have a few months left. We have been praying for two of our preschool families every week and will continue throughout the school year. Please include a prayer for all our families and staff. We pray for our school, church, Pastor Paul, and preschool families every day.

Blessings…Shawn

Little Palms is happy to announce another set of triplets just signed up for preschool! We currently have 37 students and hope to add more in the next couple of months. March 5th is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. Little Palms students will join the church service at 10:30 for the children’s sermon. They are always a joy as they listen enthusiastically to Pastor Paul’s message. Some St. Patrick Day activities will probably be planned and we begin Spring on the 20th! New sand will be added to the children’s play area and it was bought by using a Scrip card from Home Depot. Remember to support the Scrip program because Little Palms School benefits by getting the money they need to buy new playground toys, supplies for the classrooms and so much more! We want to thank our teachers and staff for all their hard work. And thank the volunteers who help out in the classrooms. Watch for new signs going up around Hosanna and remember to spread the news about our awesome Little Palms Preschool!

In Him, our constant source of joy and delight.
