Thomas, Paige, Elizabeth &
Jacob Queen (our missionaries in
South Africa; Suite H17, P/Bag X9118;
Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, 3200): House visits went well yesterday. We
taught about David & Goliath and also
showed them how to knit. We gave away
some ibuprofen that y’all donated yesterday to a very grateful lady.
Apparently donations are way down this year at Ethembeni so they are
cutting their workers pay and may not be giving the Shiyas people any
mealie meal so they will be hungry. Pray for donations to improve. We
really need more interpreters but money is needed to pay for that. Also
the drought is severe here. Water restrictions are coming unless God
sends rain. This also makes food expensive which means hungry
bellies here. We got Thomas' car fixed today. Pray our cars work well
especially since we need to be able to transport the new volunteers that
arrive Feb 1st. Sending our church family our love!
M&H (serving in East Asia; 504 Cherees Way; Dalton, GA 30720): College students are beginning a 1 ½ month
break, so the schedule will slow down a little for
the next 6 weeks. That will give us some time
to prepare for their next busy season when
students return. Over the Christmas season we
had a mission team comprised of seven 18-21
year old young ladies come in to help build
relationships. It was very effective. We also
saw the “3rd
generation” efforts occurring as a
recently born brother helped another man come into the family. That
new family member is already sharing with others. That is
exciting. Praise: two girls got b@pt!zed recently! Request: the new
brother will spend the next 1 ½ months with family who will not
encourage his growth, and there is no fellowship near his home to help
either. Ask for strength and discipline to grow up. Request: we will
return stateside in the summer, and we need direction about what we
are to do there. Ask the Father for clear guidance about school, jobs,
and service.
BJabc (serving in Northern Africa; 4551 Old Dalton Rd NE; Rome,
GA 30165): Thank you for your faithfulness
to intercede and support our family. We are
back in the swing of life. The kids are back
at school, and we have lots of guests coming
in over the next few weeks. We are making
plans and working towards building and
deepening relationships. We know that as
we move forward into 2016, that without
you we won’t get very far. We are continually grateful for you all and
we love you very much! Family - Our time together over the break
was a true gift from the Father. Continue to ask that we would protect
time with our children. Ask that they would grow physically,
spiritually, and socially during this semester of school. Finally, ask that
the Father would continue to show us how we as a family can reach
other families for the glory of the Father. Groups - As we head into the
new year we are asking the Father to tell us which groups to continue
training and which groups we need to release on their own. Ask that
the Father would give us wisdom in regard to the following groups:
Mkt.3, Mkt.5, Mkt.6, Koshe.1, Hobay.1, Buta.1, A.1, Buta.2 and
Alaba.1. Friends - We are grateful for the many national friends with
whom we have relationships. Ask that JAcbn would be strengthened as
a family, as a married couple, and as co-laborers for the Kingdom. Ask
that T would continue to use her relationships to tell and train others
among her family and neighbors. Ask that our relationships with E & T
would lead to a strong partnership for making disciples together.
Finally ask that our relationships with I, T, E & J, A, K, K, M, and A
would lead to new opportunities to train groups of disciples that have a
deep desire to tell and teach others. Team - Our team hopes to all be
back together by next week. Continue to intercede for JB as she works
through the legal process. Ask that DA would be released of her fear of
driving and would grow more confident in her ability to live here
through Him. Lift WRenhr as they return here and begin life as a
family of six. Ask that B & C would continue to see the Father use
them to lead our team well, to solidify our platform here, and that they
would have great wisdom in how to support JB. Finally, ask that we
would be a team that is marked by our love, unity and desire to make
Him known.
Michelle Parham (answered the call to vocational ministry; 1812
Glenbrook Place; Dalton, GA 30720): Thank
you for praying! I can always count on you!
Please be in prayer for one of my campers and
his family as his mother passed away Monday.
Also pray that I will have a peace about what
the Lord has in store for me in the coming
semesters! Lastly please pray that I feed my
spiritual needs before anything else! I love you
all!
Kristen Bowen (currently attending North Greenville University
with plans to do the Journeyman program with
the IMB; 7801 N. Tigerville Road, Box 2282;
Tigerville, SC 29688): Life is pretty routine for
me right now as I fight school deadlines and try
to be a sane human being (if that is possible).
Pray for me not to miss what is right in front of
me. I forget that I only really get one day at a
time. I tend to try and rush things. God provides
opportunities to represent him during a normal
busy school day; pray for me to let him speak through me even when I
am busy. Troy Poe (answered the call to vocational
ministry; 556 Harvest Way; Dalton, GA 30721): Thank you for all the prayers and encouragements!
This week has been great with only having to go to
two days of school. Please continue to pray for my
school work. Also pray for God to give me
opportunities to share the Gospel, and He will give
me the courage at the time to speak out.
David, Kellie Crowe & Family (church planters w/ Greene
Community Church in Waynesburg; 417 Craig Run Road;
Waynesburg, PA 15370): We had to call off our ministries last night
too...and glad we did. We were only supposed to get a dusting and
ended up 2-3 inches by late afternoon...more to come tomorrow. We
were to kick off AWANA last night so Lord willing we will begin next
Wednesday. Other than that, program ministries slow down this time
of year because of the inconsistency of
weather...just continue to pray for
congregational health. Thanks to GLBC
for faithfulness to pray for us and the
eternal work God is doing in preparing a
people from this community to be
presented to Himself holy, blameless and
without reproach.

Beaverdale Road NE; Dalton, GA 30721): The wedding is coming up
so quickly and my time at home is coming to an end! Please pray that
this time will become a great memory for me! Would you also pray
that any decisions that need to be made on this side of the wedding will
be in the front of my mind, please? I feel so forgetful sometimes with
all the decisions that I have been faced with lately! Please pray that I
will remember important things and make good decisions! Thank you
for your prayers! I would also like to ask you to pray for God to give
me wisdom in making decisions about my future! I really want Him to
be glorified in whatever it is that I do! Thank
you for being so diligent in prayer and thank
you for walking with me through this exciting
time in my life! I love you all!! Chad Keeter (Navigators Ministry, Staff;
2050 Old Bishop Road; Bishop, GA 30621): It was great to see many of you last weekend!
Thank you so much for sharing the church
building for our men's retreat over the
weekend! We had a great time, and it has helped launch a sense of
camaraderie and enthusiasm amongst all the guys in our ministry.
Specifically, it's been exciting to see a number of the sophomore guys
getting together to read the Word and talk together about walking in
wholeness. Thank you for praying for our men's retreat and for
continuing to pray for the group of sophomore guys that my coworker
Ken and I are investing in. It's evident that the Lord is moving in their
lives! Pray for this to continue to happen. Also, please continue to pray
for our outreach to students in the beginning of this semester. We've
already connected with over 100 students! Pray for us to have favor as
we follow up and talk with students about Jesus. Thank you for your
partnership; I love you guys!
Brian & Ashley Jones (student at Southeastern Baptist
Theological Seminary; 1138 Thomrose Way;
Wake Forest, NC 27587): Pray for us to be
committed to God in reading His Word, prayer,
and fasting; keeping God at the center our
marriage; battling lies we believe and combating it
with faith in God’s Word; Brian with school, I'm
starting a new job next week at the seminary and
praying about pursuing my doctorate degree. Also
please be in prayer as Brian is teaching middle
schoolers at church and I'm teaching high schoolers at church. I've also
been able to form friendships with some high school unbelievers that
are willing to come with me to church. Thank you so much!! Josh & Hannah Bowen (seminary student at Boyce School/
Southern Baptist Theological
Seminary; 107 Fenley Avenue, Apt Q3;
Louisville, KY 40207): We would like to
ask you to pray with us and for us that as
we make some big decision. We wish to
honor God and chase him (not just his
answers). The Lord has blessed us so much
and continues to teach us daily. The kids are great! Please pray as
Hannah is at home with them, while also working from home. We love
you all!
Mark & Gynnette Yoho (Fourth
Watch Ministry; 840 Mountain Loop Rd
NW; Sugar Valley, GA 30746): Psalms
126:6 says “Those who go out weeping,
carrying seed to sow, will return with songs
of joy, carrying sheaves with them.” All of
the promises of God are special to us. But
this promise that God will bring in the
Harvest to those who are faithful to sow and
weep shall doubtless reap has a special place with us. It helps us to
press on faithfully carrying out our ministry regardless of the visible
results trusting that we will reap if we faint not. And it happens just
like the Scripture says. Thanks for your prayers last week as we
worked with the Coolidge Church of God. We saw Psalms 126:6 come
alive. On Saturday morning we trained 15 people in evangelism and
lead them out into the community of 600 people to witness. The teams
came back excited but reported no salvations. That evening that
afternoon the church worked hard to bring in the youth and children for
a Balloon Gospel presentation that night. Praise the Lord 2 older
children responded to receive Christ. Then on Sunday morning an 18
year old young man showed up for church that had been visited by one
of the teams the day before. After preaching the message I extended
the invitation and he came forward to meet me. We knelt at the altar
and the young man received Christ. It was a great weekend for the little
struggling church, they were very excited. This Sunday morning I will
be preaching at Harbor Lights Baptist in Lafayette, GA. January 29-
31 I will be joining with Sports Fan Outreach Inc for an outreach at the
NHL Hockey Championship in Nashville TN. Then February 3-10 is
our annual Mardi Gras Outreach in New Orleans. Please pray for these
and continue to pray God will fill our calendar for the 2016 year.
Thanks so much for all of your support and prayer. We love y’all!
Bryan & Brittany Kelly (Boyce School/Southern Baptist
Theological Seminary; 315 Crescent Court;
Louisville KY 40206): Thank you for praying for
us. We have really needed it this week. It was a
tough transition coming back from Christmas. It
was very hard to leave family and home this time.
Most of our friends left after school was finished,
so we are starting over with finding friends. Britt
has had a hard week. A childhood friend passed
away on Monday from brain cancer. She will start
tonight at our church leading Cubbies, so pray for
her as she builds relationships and ministers to the her 3 year olds. I got
a promotion at work and a new crew to run. It has been great, just
getting very cold! We ask for prayers as we continue to seek the Lord
and what He would have us to do. Pray that we would trust Him and
draw near to Him. It's hard not having a definite "plan," but we know
He is in control. Britt meets with the church pastors about the
preschool director position in Elizabethtown on Friday. It's scary
because we are really struggling with wanting to be closer to home.
But, this is what the Lord has opened up at this time. We are trying to
keep our spirits high and be thankful.
Julie Parham (student at Moody Bible Institute; 1812 Glenbrook
Place; Dalton, GA 30720): I started classes on
Monday and was a little overwhelmed with all the
papers and reading I will be doing. But I was
reminded of why I am at Moody and that I can do
this with faith and trusting in the Lord. I am really
excited for all the classes I'm in. I have met many
people! Pray for the Lord to bring me solid friends.
Pray I will stay focused on my school work. It's
snowed almost every day I've been here. It's
absolutely amazing that every snowflake that falls is different and hand
-crafted by our Heavenly Father! So cool!
