Mark your calendar for May 31! We will have special-ists with us to conduct an archeological dig. Check out how archeology is used to preserve our past and learn about the tools of the trade at this day camp. You will learn to categorize artifacts, interpret a site, and tour the state park as we learn about our past. This will be at Old Washington State Park, 10 am- 3 pm. The day camp cost will be $11 per person
(includes a burger meal). It’s a fun, educa-tional event to start off your summer! Call the office to register and save your spot! 870-845-7517. Click here to view the flyer for this event!
Archeological Day Camp Planned
Plans are underway for the 2017 Quad County Camp. The camp will be held at the Timber Ridge Lodge in Amity on June 21-23. The camp registration fee will be $75 this year. We are limited to 20 spaces. Appli-cations are available at the office or on our county web page. This year’s camp will include another county, so we are looking for a new name! We will no longer be “Quad” (4) County Camp. The 5 counties participating are Howard, Miller, Little River, Sevier,
and Pike. List your suggestion on the bottom of your camp application. Be creative! If your camp name is chosen you will receive a $25 gift card! Your appli-cation and pay-ment is due by May 19- first come, first serve.

new part of B-day. Here are the details as promised:
Breeds Bonanza will begin May 9, at 6 pm, at the EH
Center so that we can use the slideshow projector.
All common breeds of livestock (cattle, sheep,
goats, and pigs) are fair game. Contestants will be
divided into teams at random by age. Cloverbuds
may attend this contest as well. There will be about
20 questions and a rare breeds round to break any
ties. Ribbons will be awarded like the other B-Day
competitions. Study up on the most common
breeds you see at livestock shows-
www.ansi.okstate.edu/breeds is a great website to
learn common breeds. For rare or Specialty/
Heritage breeds- www.livestockconservancy.org is
great for questions that could come up in the final
round. Be sure that you know where breeds origi-
nated and what crossbred and composite breeds
are. Call the office to regis-
ter for this event ASAP.

test? Contact Miss Kaycee
