The central element in every class at Classroom tv is

a video-lecture.

InstitutionThe “institution” is the landing page that is assigned to every institution within

Classroom tv. Each institution can manage its landing page and

organize educational content that can be discovered by other users

(e.g.: www.classroomtv.com/stanford)

DegreesThe degree is a collection of courses that represents an area of study. Each

degree is associated to a specific institution and can contain multiple courses.

CoursesWithin each degree, an administrator can add courses. Each course can be

structured into a collection of classes and tests.

ClassesEach class is associated to a specific course, consisting of a video lectures and

metadata associated to the class. Such metadata includes video concepts,

presentations, tests, complementary material that can be easily downloaded.

OVERALL STRUCTUREPLATFORM

Our Synchromanager also makes it really easy for an admin to synchronize different slides to

different time-points in a video. Similarly, admins can easily create and sync in-video quizzes,

embedded within a video-lecture.

more than 1,000 hours of high-quality content in

Spanish.

Classroom tv’s user-base spans more than 150 cou-

ntries world-wide, and its traction has been growing

at an average rate of 20% per month, during 2012

and 2013.

TECHNICALSPECS

As a team, we are interested in supporting the

most engaging online learning experience. We

are compatible with every modern browser and

most mobile devices based on HTML5, with the

exception of legacy browsers such as a Explorer 8

(or older).

To guarantee the availability and security of the

educational content, our content delivery platform

runs independently of the our software-as-a-

service platform and is integrated to Amazon S3

(Simple Storage Service).

SERVICES AND ASSOCIATED COSTSSPECS

Free serviceInstitutions can organize classes into courses and degrees, create test, and engage

users to interact with each other and benefit from most of the platform’s attributes.

Institutional administrators have access to analytics about the usage of the platform

(popu-larity of different classes, statistics about the test-solving performance of

users, etc).

The main difference between between the free service and the premium service is

that the content (classes, courses, etc) are openly accessible by everyone.

Institutional administrators can upload up to one hour of content to the platform for

free. The video content is not only stored in our cloud infrastructure but we also

perform automated transcoding and cover the associated (bandwidth) cost of delive-

ring the content.

Premium serviceInstitutions can deliver courses with restricted-access to a selected number of users.

Institutions can also gain access to a more detailed report about the performance

of each student. The pricing model is based on a monthly fee per user and this fee

starts decreasing as the total number of users purchased goes beyond 500 users.

Additionally, we charge a monthly fee for the video content uploaded to our servers

(fee per hour of video-content). This fee also includes a video transcoding service

delivered as soon as the video-content has been uploaded.
