History:
o Invented by Joseph Carl in the 1960s.
o In 1983, CompuServe offered its consumer users 128kb of disk space that could be used to store any files they chose to upload.
o Amazon Web Services introduced their cloud Computing service AWS S3 in 2006
o Cloud Computing is a service model in which data is maintained, managed and backed up remotely and made available to users over a network (typically the Internet).

• Retains high degree of control, privacy and security

• Composition of two or more clouds (private or public) bound together by standardized technology that enables data and application portability.
