THE PROCEDURE One surveyor was at the front entrance

of C. B. South Another surveyor was as the back

entrance of C.B. South We surveyed on two different dates,

June 3rd and June 4th Recorded our data with every other

person If we didn't know, we would ask them

what they were wearing? ? ?? ? ?? ?

BACKGROUND ON CLOTHING People started wearing clothing

100,000-500,000 years ago The first clothing were made from

nature elements like animal skin, animal fur, grass, leaves, animal bones, and shells

Clothing was usually draped or tied together

Simple needles made out of animal bones provided evidence that there was sewn leather and fur garments

ANALYSIS

Brands such as Philly sports apparel and American Eagle were very popular with C.B. South student

Brands such as Gap and Banana Republic were unpopular among the student that were surveyed

20% of students surveyed were wearing Philly Sports clothing while only 1.4% were wearing either Gap of Banana Republic

Page 8: Clothing & Jewelry

CONCLUSION From the graph, we expect that all CB

South students will prefer Philly sports team clothing and American Eagle more than Gap or Banana Republic

The reason why gap and banana republic are so low is because they are not in style in high schoolers, and the reason why American eagle is so high on the chart is because those types of brands are in style

ANALYSIS

Among C.B. South Students cargo shorts were the most popular style

while denim shorts are the least popular style. 67% of students surveyed were wearing cargo

shorts while 7.8% of students wore denim shorts.

Page 13: Clothing & Jewelry

CONCLUSION In our sample, cargo shorts are a more

popular style and denim shorts were the least popular.

The cargo shorts are the highest on the graph because those are in style

Denim shorts are the lowest because they are out of style

ANALYSIS Regular shorts were the most popular shorts among the women surveyed. Athletic shorts were the least popular

with the women surveyed. Dresses and skirts were the second most

popular style of bottoms for the women. 48.5% of the women surveyed wore

regular shorts.

Page 18: Clothing & Jewelry

CONCLUSION We found that regular shorts were most

popular with the sample of C.B. South students that were surveyed.

We also found that athletic shorts were the least popular style of shorts for our sample of South students.

Regular shorts consists of jean “short” shorts, or anything above the mid-thigh because for girls those are in style

Athletic shorts are the lowest because they are not as popular compared to the other styles recorded

ANALYSIS More women wear Jewelry compared to menAt C.B. South. Out of the total amount of students that

wore jewelry, which was 69, 26 were men and 43 were women

37.7% are men 62.3% are women

Page 23: Clothing & Jewelry

CONCLUSION It is the norm that on average women

wear jewelry in comparison to men.

The graph showed that more than half the people surveyed that wore jewelry were women.

ANALYSIS After completing our survey and by observingthe graph it is shown that more women

wear sports related apparel than men do.

61.1% of women wear sports apparel while 38.9% of men wear sport apparel.

Page 28: Clothing & Jewelry

CONCLUSION The graph showed that on average

women wear more sports apparel than men do but this could be caused to the events that were occurring at the time such as the girls soccer and softball playoffs.

The amount of men that wear sports apparel could have been low compared to the amount of females because there were no playoff sporting events for any boys C.B. South sporting events.

ANALYSIS

•This graph shows that more men wear C.B. South apparel compared to female students.

•The percentage of females that wear South apparel is 35.5% compared to the men's percentage which is 64.5%

Page 33: Clothing & Jewelry

CONCLUSION The reason for the girls number of

sports apparel could be due to the fact that the girls soccer team was in the state playoffs. The reason for the higher amount of guys wearing south apparel is because there are more males involved with South sports compared to women.

CONCLUSION After conducting our surveys we found

that both men and women prefer a certain style of bottoms.

Students at C.B. South do not favor one brand of shirt in particular.

Women wear more jewelry and sports apparel compared to men.

Men are more likely to wear South clothing.

We can use this information to show that C.B. South does not fit into the stereotype.

Page 38: Clothing & Jewelry

BIAS/ERROR We might not have did every other

person since everyone was moving at different paces

We might have sometimes guessed what they were wearing

Weather could affect what the subjects were wearing on that day

Different sporting events

PERSONAL OPINIONS We believed that this project was very

tedious and time consuming in the short amount of time.

One mistake we made was that we did a lot more work than was necessary.Ex. 6 tests

Some of the information was very surprising such as the fact that there were more women that wore sports apparel compared to men.

Overall the project revealed some interesting facts and was very insightful.
