Following are the maximum sizes available for SPANDREL GLASS full coverage: 84” x 160” (Canadian) or 84” x 165” (Viracon American), SILKSCREEN GLASS (FRIT) 70” x 150” (Canadian) or 84” x 165” (Viracon American). American is more expanses due to exchange rate.

Based on American manufacturer’s limitations following elevation needs revisions. Please provide the revised elevations to accommodate the glass manufacturer’s limitations and clarification on the details.
a) Elevation 4a. Exterior refer drawing A711.
b) Screen ScG101.1: Glass type GL-11,FR20C, refer drawing # A720.
c) Screen 111.9, refer drawing # A721.
d) Details required for Fire Hose cabinet (Glass will be split with seams) as big cut-out in the glass is not possible.
e) Cross Section & details required for Screen # ScR300.
f) Refer details 1,3/A314, 2/A315: Level 2 calls for 102mm horizontal mullion & one piece of glass sealed unit in the front. This is not advisable as it will break or cracked due to stress. The sealed unit will be split at this location and SSG silicone joint will be provided.
g) Refer detail 1/A315 same as above at level 3. Also all other similar locations.
h) 133mm back section (Horizontal) can be used in lieu of 102mm. Please advise.
A1. Responses provided following each question below:
a) On sheet A711 there is no elevation 4a. but if it was Elevation 4 that you were referring to it, the width and length of glazing are meeting the standard Canadian sizes.
b) Screen ScG 101.1 has been revised as sketch ASK-64 in Addendum A4.
c) We will consider a vertical joint in the middle of the glass, to reduce the width of it.
d) We agree with providing the seams in glass where required, we will revise the screen types where these FHC cabinets are located and will re-issue the sheets in our next Addendum.
e) Cross sections and details are available, refer to sections 2/A316, 2/A320 and details on A614.
f) Details 1 and 3 / A314, we agree with providing SSG silicon joint and using 168mm wide alum. horizontal mullion at the joint instead of 102 mm wide one. The detail will be revised and re-issued as an ASK in Architectural Addendum A4. Detail 2/A315 is an interior condition and there is no thermal difference or heat stress on the glass units. So we prefer to keep the detail as it is now.
g) Detail 1/A315 has no such condition like 1/A314.
h) Please keep 102mm
Q2. Structural detail 17/S721, please provide extent of new retaining wall
A2. 17/S721: Note to be added to detail "Refer to architectural drawings for extent of retaining wall”. Refer to drawing 9/A202 for the length and slope of this retaining wall.

Q3. Along GL H on drawing A113A and A113B, reference is made for wall type PB9. However, this is not made reference to on the partitions drawing A011. Please provide wall type details of PB9.
A3. PB9 has been named PB6 in partition drawing A011. Please change it to PB9 as per ASK-74.
Q4. Stair B section 17/A610 has notes “TPA handrails and guards all type 304 stainless steel” but detail 18/A610 shows regular steel rails. Please clarify which one is correct.
A4. 304 stainless steel is correct. Also see Metal Fabrication schedule on Spec. div. 05 50 01
Q5. Please clarify wall type at interior screens (underneath and above screens). Ex. ScP104.1 and ScP104.3 on P1 floor Plans.
A5. Above Screen ScP104.1 is W10A (Parking insulated walls above Screens).
Above and below ScP104.3 on P1 is PB3X, see ASK-76 which will be issued as Part of Architectural ADD-A4.
Q6. Based on current configuration and pipe routing for the standpipe system schematic, multiple isolation valves will be required ( over and above what is shown on drawings ) to meet requirements of NFPA-14 ( 2013 edition ). Please have this schematic reviewed again and advise accordingly as this will also affect fire alarm zoning on electrical scope of work.
A6. To expedite the process, it would be beneficial to the project for the contractor to identify to the design team the missing valves they believe are necessary in order to meet the requirements of NFPA-14.
Q7. Reference drawing A100P, a 600mm W x 1200m H concrete crash wall is indicated along grid line 2 but not reflected in structural drawings. Please provide structural detail of the wall.
A7. Crash wall and reinforcing to be added on Addendum S4.
Q8. DW E304A, B;E305B;E306B,E404A & B are missing from Addendum#10,E-01 please clarify.
A8. These drawings were issued in Addendum 11. (Because of file size limitations of the City's Purchasing website, large addenda have to be broken down in this manner).
Q9. Drawing S103 grid G/1x indicates beams P1B1 – P1B4, PB16 & PB21 as concrete beams in S205 beam schedule but reference cross section 6/S606 shows steel beam. Please clarify.
A9. P1B1- P1B4 are shown on Steel Beam Schedule, PB16 and PB21 are concrete beams.

A10. Radiant flooring shall be installed in accordance with manufacturers’ installation requirements /details and flooring type FL3 identified on Architectural drawing A010.
Q11. When is the anticipated award date for the project?
A11. See response in Addendum No. 13 to similar question.
Q12. Has the owner already acquired encroachment agreement with residential owners to the west side of the property line and to the City to the east side? Some scope of work will be outside of the property line (i.e. shoring tie-backs, tree removals, etc.).
A12. The City of Toronto has entered into written agreements with the residential property owners on the west side of the community centre allowing the City to 1) encroach beneath their properties with shoring tiebacks, and to 2) remove or injure the trees on the shared property line as indicated on the plans.
On the east side, the City will be circulating the plans for the proposed shoring tiebacks encroaching into the Woodsy Park Lane ROW to the utility companies that may be located within the Woodsy Park Lane ROW to confirm non-interference, in order to secure the shoring permit that the City has applied for.
Q13. The enclosed is copy of drawing S106, please provide a moment connection detail at the underside of concrete beam if it is available.

Q14. Reference L-01A drawing indicates a note “all boulevard work to be done by concord adex investments limited”, please clarify extent of what is considered under boulevard work. Is it any work outside property line along Woodsy Park Lane is by Concord Adex?

Q15. Drawing AR_01, did owner already obtain tree removal permit? Action column of the tree inventory list indicates “permit & permission from shared owner required”, please confirm if owner is responsible in getting a permit from shared owners.
A15. A17. Fixture is not required. Floating fixture to be deleted. Loose Starter schedule was provided in Electrical addendum ADD-E02. P-STM-P3-03/04 does not exist.
Q18. Specify composition of wall type PB9 – Seen along gridline H – Drawing A113A.
A18. PB9 has been named PB6 in Partition Drawing A011. Please change it to be PB9, as per ASK-74.
Q19. Specify composition of wall type PG4X – Noted along gridline D – Drawing A114 above curtain wall. Additionally is this located only on specific areas or along the entire curtain wall?
A19. The partition above the screen is PGSX2. Please change the note to read ‘PGSX2 ABOVE’ And it is just above that particular curtain wall. Refer to section 3/A614.
Q20. Specify TKS type for the Staff Room L112 & Office / Program Planning L109 on Detail 1 A801.

Q21. Confirm location of turnstile @ third floor athletics noted on Detail 3 Drawing A903.
A21. There is no turnstile on 3rd floor anymore, please remove the note reading : “DUPLEX & DATA/VoIP DATA FOR TURNSTILEs” from detail 3/A903
Q22. Drawing A100P1 indicates parking control equipment and pay stations, please provide specification if these are to be included in the contract.
A22. They are not included in the contract and will be provided by the Toronto Parking Authority (TPA).
Q23. SPL Geotechnical Report dated Nov. 28, 2015 (page 7) recommends caisson wall along exterior basement walls to temporarily control groundwater seepage during construction stage. Issued shoring design drawings SH0 indicates caisson wall along north & west sides only. Is this requirement been considered in the design of the shoring?
A23. As per Notes B.2 on SHO, active dewatering is being considered during construction. Therefore groundwater seepage to be minimal, and soldier piles & lagging will allow for a more efficient design due to drainage between lagging boards.
Q24. Arborist report indicates requirement for root protection & tree pruning, please indicate on drawing where this is required.
A24. We could not find any reference to root protection in the Arborist Report. You may need to send the specific comment that you are referring to? Reference to pruning is a general note. If any unforeseen pruning is required, it needs to be done by a certified Arborist.
Q25. Landscape removals drawing L100A & L100B indicates about 67 trees to be removed which do not match trees to be removed in arborist drawing AR-01 (only shows 52 ea), please confirm which drawing to follow.
A25. L100A and L100B show trees to be removed according to the survey. The Arborist drawing AR-01 identifies trees that were surveyed on site. There is a discrepancy because trees on the Survey did not appear on site. The arborist report is likely more accurate since it was done at a later date after some site work had commenced, however any tree identified for removal on L100A and L100B should be removed.
Q26. RFS for Parking levels lists TL12 at various wall locations in the parking vestibules.
a) TL12 in the Tile Schedule is listed for use in the pool and library.
b) There is not elevations of the parking vestibule walls to show us extent of the tile.
A26. TL12 is correct, we will update the Tile schedule to add Parking Vestibules to Location of TL12. On sheet A800 Parking RFS, on Comments Column, indicate TL12 up to 1.2m and painted GWB above.

A27. City of Toronto Addendum 2 issued Architectural Addendum A1 and some components of the Architectural Addendum as noted. City of Toronto Addendum 3 included the 7 Architectural Drawings issued in the Architectural Addendum, as noted on City of Toronto Addendum 3. (Because of file size limitations of the City's Purchasing website, large addenda have to be broken down in this manner).
All other aspects of the Tender remain the same.
