Introduction

The Battlefield Acupuncture (BFA) national note title/template was created for widespread

availability and use among VHA providers of BFA. This will help to standardized BFA

documentation as well as allow for the tracking of important health factors of use to OPCC&CT.

If your site does not perform this procedure, you do not need to install this update at this time.

The install guide will be available on the VDL to install at a later time if your facility begins to

provide this service.

Install Details This update is being distributed as a web host file. The address for the host file is:

The file will be installed using Reminder Exchange, programmer access is not required.

Installation:

This update can be loaded with users on the system. Installation will take less than 20 minutes.

Install Example To Load the Web Host File. Navigate to Reminder exchange in Vista

At the Select Action: prompt, enter LWH for Load Web Host File

At the Input the url for the .prd file: prompt, type the following web address:

http://vista.med.va.gov/reminders/UPDATE_2_0_21.PRD

You should see a message at the top of your screen that the file successfully loaded.


Search and locate an entry titled UPDATE_2_0_21 VA-BATTLEFIELD ACUPUNCTURE in

reminder exchange

At the Select Action prompt, enter IFE for Install Exchange File Entry

2. Setup of Note title

You will need to create a new note title for the dialog included in this update.

The new note title that needs to be created is:

BATTLEFIELD ACUPUNCTURE

This note title is to be mapped to the following VHA Enterprise Standard Title:

INTEGRATIVE HEALTH NOTE

If you already have a note title for this procedure, you can attach the dialog to

your existing note title, just confirm that the note title is mapped to the following

VHA Enterprise Standard Title: INTEGRATIVE HEALTH NOTE

3. Associate the reminder dialog with the note title in CPRS.

To do this, go to Template Editor, then Document Titles, select the appropriate

folder (if applicable), and choose New Template (top right-hand corner).

Type in the following information:

Name: BATTLEFIELD ACUPUNCTURE

Template Type: Reminder Dialog

Reminder Dialog: VA-BFA BATLEFIELD ACUPUNCTURE NOTE

Next, type in the Associated Title, which in this case is BATTLEFIELD

ACUPUNCTURE, and hit Apply:
