HOLIDAY CLOSINGS

MONDAY, February 18th President’s Day

Hello from the CEO

Dear CFCU Member,

I hope each and every one of you had a great Christmas! As I get older, I real-

ize more each day the importance of spending time with family. When I think

about Christmas, I always think about our family dinners, opening presents to-

gether on Christmas Eve, watching the kids in church plays, singing in the cantata,

and trying to either hide presents, or tape them in a way that couldn’t be easily

opened. Great memories are getting better now that grandkids are involved!

Somehow, Carly just knew that all the presents wrapped in Mickey Mouse or

Tinker Bell paper were hers and she wasn’t a bit shy about opening them! How

blessed we are!

Family entertainment is what we have in store for you at our Annual Meeting

this year. Kevin King is, by far, the best magician and one of the funniest comedi-

ans I have ever seen! He was performing at a conference I was at recently and

somehow, through the help of some so-called friends, I ended up on stage with

him. I was amazed at his skill and memory; he completely impressed me!

And, of course, gospel music at its best will be performed by our very own

Landmarks! They’ve become a much requested tradition over the years and I

know you look forward to hearing them as much as we all do!

We look at our community as part of our family and wanted to find a way to

support local merchants. We will be notifying members on Facebook, radio, web-

site, and the local paper to participate in “Ca$h Mobs” several months during

2013. We will pick a day to support different local businesses and encourage our

members to shop at that business on a certain day. Be watching for this great op-

portunity to make a difference for our local businesses!

Speaking of Facebook...be sure to look us up and please “like” us! You might

want to check in pretty often because we have already had one contest and we

gave away a couple of tickets to Biltmore Estate. We plan to do exciting contests

in the near future, too.

The “Refer-A-Friend” promotion ended and we are very pleased with the re-

sults. Not only were we able to serve some new members’ lending needs, we were

humbled and touched by all the members that referred friends. Thank you all very

much! We were so pleased that we intend to have another “Refer-A-Friend” con-

test which will end on March 22nd. We will draw the winners at the Annual Meet-

ing. This time we will be drawing for two eReaders: one to the member that

makes the referral and one to the new member that is approved for a loan. So get

busy, and bring us some new members and you just might be a lucky winner!

A warm welcome is extended to our newest board member, Walter Harris.

Having served on the board several years ago Walter is a welcome addition. Wel-

come back, Walter!

Special note to my precious family: it was so good to have my son Jamie home

for the holidays and I think my favorite moment

was Sunday dinner with everyone eating way too

much and just sitting around talking and teasing

each other...memories in the making!

We were advised by the US Treasury and the Social

Security Administration that they have changed the

method of ACH benefit payments to those routinely

paid on the 3rd of each month. We have worked dili-

gently to make sure that everyone with loan or share

distributions from their direct deposit would not be

affected by this change. Please look closely at your

statement this month, particularly your loan payments,

and contact us ASAP if you find any errors.
