Konfort 710RTo keep up with the demand for recharge stations for the older refrigerant, we have the New KONFORT 710R, designed to satisfy the needs of garages who want an “entry level” system only for R134a which, after all, is still the most common refrigerant in vehicle A/C systems. Although this is an entry

level model the KONFORT 710R provides, as standard, all the essential functions that have established the KONFORT 700 Series as the leading recharge stations on the market. Features include automatic leak detection, electronic refrigerant weighing, automatic timed oil and UV tracer injection and high efficiency refrigerant recovery (over 95%).

teXA: THE KONFORT 700 SERIES

Konfort 760R The KONFORT 760R has all the same features as the 780R, but is designed as a single refrigerant unit. A retrofit kit to change refrigerant type to HFO1234YF in the future is available. This does not update the unit to a bi-gas as with the 780 below.

Konfort 720R The KONFORT 720R is an entry level unit for single gas applications. It features a single colour display, with manual control of hoses, oil and UV management.

Konfort 780R Bi-Gas The fully automatic 780R is designed to deal with both R134A & HFO-1234YF simultaneously. An internal SD card records all service functions and stores the vehicle database. Automatic Oil/UV management with electronic bottle identification & hermetically sealed containers prevents cross contamination of oils and any moisture contamination of lubricants.

An internal tilt sensor ensures accurate refrigerant charging at all times, whilst the automatic leak detection & complex internal ventilation system ensures safe use with the new refrigerant. The accuracy of both the recovery and charge phases are greatly increased to meet the latest OEM requirements.

These new features allow the units to be compatible with Hybrid and Electric vehicles.

LEAK DETECTION

The Loktrace kit has been developed to meet today’s needs to locate and fix refrigerant leaks quickly and accurately. Using the same principles as OFN, but with a special Loktrace gas and the inclusion of an electronic leak detector, ensures even the smallest leaks are found. The Loktrace detector will detect leaks quickly and easily, thus saving both time and money.

LOKTRACE gas, which is a mixture of nitrogen and hydrogen, is filled into the air conditioning system for leak detection. LOKTRACE gas is non-flammable, non-toxic, non-corrosive and not harmful to the environment. Hydrogen molecules are the smallest naturally occurring particles and escape from minimum size leaks. with the help of the LOKTRACER TLD.500 or LOKTRACER TLD.1000 the tiniest leaks can be detected. DIAGNOSTICS

Supercool’s Valtest 371 A/C diagnostic tool is designed to diagnose failing A/C systems with electronically controlled compressors. The Valtest 371 performs a quick, easy to understand analysis of the compressors operation, the strength of the Electronic Control Unit signal, and the functionality of the valve by determining whether there is a short-circuit or open-circuit and whether the failure is in the ECU or the compressor. The Valtest 371 tool now makes it possible to effectively diagnose the new generation of electronically controlled A/C compressors. A must have tool for the AC Technician.

inSTAllATiOn:• Connect the charging station manometers to perform compressor pressure measurements• Disconnet the compressor from the ECU• Connect the compressor to the Valtest• Connect the output of the ECU to the Valtest

TESTS:• Turn on the Valtest and verify the state of the valve short circuit or open circuit. Turn off the Valtest.• Start the vehicle, turn on the air conditioning and the Valtest unit.• Verify the pressures reducing and increasing the signal with the + and - controls on the Valtest

1 dAy COuRSE Level 3 Award in Automotive Air Con Servicing and Maintenance (EC842-2006) (qCF)Course Overview:This qualification offers automotive technicians the opportunity to develop new skills and enhance existing ones. The qualification is suitable for those technicians who wish to expand their breadth of knowledge in the routine servicing and maintenance of mobile air conditioning systems.

2 dAy COuRSE Level 3 Award in Automotive Air Con & Climate Control Diagnosis and Repair (EC842-2006) (qCF)Course Overview:Similar to the one day course but includes further training on actual diagnosis and repair of air conditioning and climate control systems.

Both the one day and two day courses incorporate Unit AC1 (K/600/3391) Refrigerant Handling (EC842- 2006). This unit is approved by Defra for MAC technicians (working with cars and car derived vans) who handle F-Gas. Therefore on the completion of this qualification, technicians will hold a valid certificate (attestation) to legally recover F-Gas (see Background to European Union F-gas regulations above).

TRAINING COURSES

The qualification is assessed by practical assessments and IMI online set tests.

Onsite vRQMinimum of two technicians, unless as part of a new AC machine installation. This qualification is for technicians who have received previous training or have experience in working with air conditioning systems, but require accreditation on F-Gas handling only, to meet Defra regulations.

The VRQ qualification is the basic legal requirement if using aircon equipment on motor vehicles and can be taken at your premises, subject to suitable internet access, or at one of our approved training centres.

Please note that the onsite VRq contains both a practical assessment and an online, multiple choice exam, designed to test the technician’s competence in the handling of refrigerant gases according to the Defra approved IMIAL Level 3 Award (EC842-2006) qCF standards. The VRq assessment should not be viewed as a training course, if the technician has little or no prior experience on AC systems, we strongly recommend either the 1 or 2 day course which includes both system training and the VRq assessment

From 4th July 2010, in order to legally work on MACS (mobile air-con systems) on cars and car derived vans, all MAC technicians must have achieved, as a minimum requirement, a refrigerant handling qualification (approved by Defra) meeting these EU F-Gas regulations (Commission regulation EC 842/2006 and the later annex to commission regulation EC 307/2008). These vocationally related qualifications (VRQ) are part of the IMI Awards suite of QCF automotive air conditioning qualifications.

SuPPly OF REFRiGERAnT, nEW FOR 2015If you are a Technician or if you employ Technicians who work on Mobile Air Conditioning Systems (MACS) and use refrigerant, you must now provide details of all staff qualifications, including certificate number and expiry date, in order to purchase refrigerant. The new legislation requires that you provide this information for all staff within your business that work on MACS and hold the relevant certification, this can be ATA, IMI or City & Guilds 5101. Q&A Q. How often should I have my machine serviced?A. we recommend an annual service, however, a machine which receives high usage should be serviced more often. Some newer machines will alert you when they need servicing, but if you’re not sure, then contact our AP-Tech team on 0845 602 3436.

Q. Which machines do you service?A. we can service any Bosch, Texa and Spin Air Con machines and our engineers have been factory trained by all three manufacturers.

Q. Do you replace the vacuum pump oil or receiver drier?A. Yes, it is essential that both are replaced, so this is included in the cost of the service.

Q. Do you calibrate the machine?A. We do. In order to keep the machine running efficiently, our engineer will fully calibrate and test your machine.

Q. How long will my machine be out of action?A. By working on site, we keep downtime to a minimum. A typical service will normally take 2 hours, although times can vary.

Q. Will the database need updating on my machine?A. This depends on a number of factors, so is not included as part of the machine service. we can do this separately for you, at an additional charge, just let the AP-Tech team know when you book your service on 0845 602 3436. We also offer a full spares and repair service should your machine encounter a fault.
