DAY 1: Sep 1, 2018 - Depart Cleveland or home city for Munich.

DAY 2: Sep 2, 2018 - MunichUpon arrival in Munich this morning meet your tour manager & transfer to your hotel. Time to unwind & have lunch on your own. This afternoon visit the cities main attractions, concluding at the Marienplatz square with its famous Clock tower. Welcome dinner at the Hofbrauhaus Brewery. (D)

DAY 3: Sep 3, 2018 - Munich - Salzburg, Glasenbach-Glasenbachklamm After breakfast depart towards Herrenchiemsee, the “Mad King” Ludwig’s castle, modelled after the

Versaille Palace in Paris. We will take the footpath to the Palace & back. We continue after lunch to Glasenback to follow hiking path #8 that will take about 3 hours. The Glasenbach gorge is the valley of the river “Klausbach”. We hike through the gorge upways along the river with its lovely waterfalls. You will find information panels along the path showing details on fossils, plants & animals in area. Enjoy the view of Gaisberg the local mountain nearby & the other surrounding mountains along the hike. 3 hours / Altitude-distance 440m / 11 km.

We end our day in Salzburg with dinner at our hotel. (B,L,D)

DAY 4: Sep 4, 2018 - Salzburg, Hike St. James RouteEarly morning departure for Fusch an der Glocknerstrabe. We should arrive about 10am in Fusch & begin our walk past the church towards the Hirzbachtal Valley. A short detour to the Hirzbach waterfall is worth the view. We continue following track No. 725 through steep terrain up to Feistalpl & the narrow Grabenschlucht gorge. Continue across the Hirzbach stream & keep climbing up to Hirzachalm (1715m), reaching a wayside cross & easy climb to a beautiful alpine meadow with unique flora. This is the scenic location of the Gleiwitzer Hut (2174m). Time to rest up before we return to Fusch to meet our bus & return to Salzburgh for a late dinner in our hotel. Distance today 16km / up - 1350m alt./ down 100 m alt./ hiking time approx. 7 hours. (B,L,D)

DAY 5: Sep 5, 2018 - Salzburg, Hallein salt mines & Lammer GorgeWe start our morning with a guided tour of the Hallein Salt Mine, Celtic Village & Museum. After lunch we transfer to Scheffau & hike to the romantic Lammer Gorge Natural Monument. Enjoy the thunderous water below you, as you push deeper into the heart of Lammer Gorge along secured walkways. A fascinating interplay of light & shade, rock & water awaits you before you come into the main entrance of the “Dark Gorge” - one of the highlights of this hike. We return to Salzburg for dinner & overnight. (B,L,D)

DAY 6: Sep 6, 2018 - Salzburg- Kranjska Gora, Ljubelj-PrevalaThis morning after breakfast we pack up a head to Slovenia stopping in Ljubelj for lunch & our afternoon hike from Ljubelj to Prevala & Rablekov dom continuing down to Draga & Grad Kamen. The stunning mountains of the Karavanke are the natural borders between Slovenia & Austria. We take in breathtaking views of Austria & Slovenia passing wild meadows, rich forests & beautiful alpine flora.

Length approx. 5 to 6 hours / Altitude diference: 350 to 600 m / 12km (If you do not want to hike a drop off at a local village will be arranged). Overnight: Kranjska Gora (B,L,D)

DAY 7: Sep 7, 2018 - Kranjska Gora, Hike Martuljek & visit PlanicaToday after breakfast we walk from Kranjska Gora to Gozd Martuljek & Martuljek waterfall. This beautiful all-weather walk starts in the small village of Gozd

Martujek with a breathtaking panorama view of the Spik mountain range. One of the most beautiful in the Julian Alps, Mt. Spik 2472m is known as the Slovenian Matterhorn. Leaving the valley our trail takes us into Martujek Gorge where we arrive at the Lower Fall, cascading down the valley. The trail snakes its way through the forest where we arrive at our rest stop & enjoy the views. If you like you may stop at the Ingo mountain hut & wait for the others who wish to continue to the second higher waterfalls. Approx. 5 to 6 hours hike. Light lunch before we head to Planica & visit the famous Planica ski jump area. Enjoy you hike to Tamar valley before returning to Kranjska Gora. Planica valley is one of the entries to Triglav National Park & its famous ski-jumps. From Plancia proglong towards Tamar. Approx. 2 ½ hours hike. (B,L,D)

DAY 8: Sep 8, 2018 – Kranjska Gora, TrbizThis morning we drive to Tribiz & take the cable car to Sv Visarje the pilgrimage place of Slavic, Germanic & Romanic people. In the 16th century the mountain was named as the “God’s way of three nations”, but today it’s known as “Gods way of Europe”. Enjoy a panorama walk around to Kamniti lovec approximately 1½ hours. You will find a beautiful view from the top of Vis & Montaz. After lunch we walk around Belopeska lake / Laghi Di Fusine for about 1 ½ hours. The lakes of glacial origin are connected to one another by easy paths hidden in a thick spruce forest at the bottom of the Mangart mountain range. The colors of the lake’s water vary from sapphire to turquoise, clear & milky as the seasons change. Return to Kranjska Gora for dinner & overnight. (B,L,D)

DAY 9: Sep 9, 2018 – Kranjska Gora, Vogel & BledToday we travel to Bohinj & take the cable car to Mt. Vogel (Ski Hotel Vogel) the starting point of our hike. Enjoy a 3 hour hike 10km to Vogel (via Sija saddle). When the weather is clear, you get a unforgettable

view at the Sija’s top. You make a Descent back to the transverse path & walk westwards to reach the “Vrata” pass. The mountain slope is quite steep & you need to be careful. It leads to the main ridge, where you make a steep ascent to the Vogel’s top (1922m). You will be fascinated by the view of the Julian Alps, Karavanken Mountains & the coastal mountains. This afternoon we travel to Lake Bled & enjoy a 6km trail around the lake with beautiful views of Castle Hill & nearby hills. Return to our hotel in Kranjska Gora. (B,L,D)

DAY 10: Sep 10, 2018 – Kranjska Gora – LjubljanaWe head to Ljubljana the capital city of Slovenia today with two beautiful hikes en-route. First to Logarska dolina & hike from Rinka waterfall to Dom na Okreslju (Okreselj hut) an hours leisurely walk before lunch. The afternoon enjoy the Logar Valley one of the most beautiful Alpine glacial valleys in Europe for an easy hike about 3 hours. It extends into the Kamnik-Savinja Alps from the north. Dinner & overnight in Ljubljana. (B,L,D)

DAY 11: Sep 11, 2018 – LjubljanaAfter breakfast we travel to Pokjuka to start our hike from the Pokjuka Sport hotel. Enjoy an easy route today taking about 2 hours before we return to Ljubljana. This afternoon we hik Smarna Gora (669m) near Ljubljana. On top you have a beautiful view of the city & some free time. This evening enjoy dinner out at a local restaurant in the city. (B,L,D)

DAY 12: Sep 12, 2018 - Ljubljana - Plitvice Lake National ParkAfter breakfast we head Plitvice Lake to arrive for a light lunch. This afternoon free time to enjoy one or more of the beautiful trails. Plitvice Lake belongs to Dinaric karst area & due to its specific geology, geomorphology, & hydrology it truly is one of the most impressive karst entities in the world. (B,L,D)

DAY 13: Sep 13, 2018 - Plitvice Lake - Postojna - Nova GoricaWe depart this morning for the Postojna & visit the famous Postojna Caves after taking the electric train into the cave enjoy your walk inside. After

a light lunch we tour the famous Predjama castle before continuing to Nova Gorica for our overnight. (B,L,D)

DAY 14: Sep 14, 2018 - Nova GoricaAfter breakfast we travel to Sveta gora with its magnificent basilica, Franciscan monastery, pilgrimage home & pearl of the European connecting route of the three pilgrimage sanctuaries. We transfer to Solkan mid-morning to hike to Sabotin the legendary mountain, in fact actually a ridge, was a bloody strategic point on the Soska fronta during the First World War. Today it is Sabotin-Park of Peace. You not only get a glimpse of all sides, but you can also descend into the diversified system of nearly a century old cavern built by members of 22 different nations. Farewell dinner. (B,L,D)

DAY 15: Sep 15, 2018 - Nova Gorica to VeniceWe have an early wake up & drive to the Venice airport for our flight home. (B)
