Behind every success story there is always a bold vision. HY-ÖL® is no exception. In the 1950s, biochemist Dr. Michael Babor researched ways of combining fresh water and high-quality natural oils. In his scientifi c perspective, this was the key to beauty because it combined the ancient tradition of using oils to care for the skin – a method that is still revered today – with the renowned hydrotherapy techniques developed by Sebastian Kneipp.

After years of research and countless experiments, Dr. Michael Babor succeeded in making special natural oils hydrophilic, or water loving. This gave them an unlimited ability to absorb water, which in turn made them easy to rinse off the skin. Thanks to their active, bio-catalytic ingredients, these hydrophilic oils (HY-ÖL®) are highly beneficial for the skin. There is no need to use a toner after cleansing. In addition, the oil binds limescale residue and salts in the water and, in contrast to mineral oils, there is no need to clarify the skin in order to prevent blackheads. HY-ÖL® is made from 100% natural oils and is free from preservatives.

Eye Make-Up Remover

A mild bi-phase eye make-up remover with the BABOR-exclusive, detoxifying extract of Agrimonia eupatoria. Thoroughly yet gently, cleanses the delicate eye area and eyelashes. Also removes water-proof mascara. Panthenol and aloe vera thoroughly moisturize the skin, leaving it feeling pleasantly smooth and supple. Perfume free.

Rose Toning Lotion

A toning face lotion with natural rose extract and the BABOR-

exclusive, detoxifying extract of Agrimonia eupatoria. Suitable for all skin types. Contains allantoin, bisabolol and panthenol to calm

and relax the skin. Refreshes and clarifies the skin, and gives it a beautifully radiant appearance.

Mild Peeling

A mild facial peel suitable for all skin types. Finely ground,

rounded peach kernels gently remove superficial dead skin

cells and dry, flaky skin. Plant-based lipids obtained

from sesame oil have a balancing and conditioning

effect. Leaves the skin looking fresh and even with a rosy glow.

Enzyme Cleanser

A fine-grained cleansing and exfoliating powder with vitamin C and enzymes. Suitable for all skin types. Mixed with water, it creates a light, foamy lather. Deeply cleanses the skin and has a gentle exfoliating effect, which revitalizes the skin.

Mild Cleanser

A particularly mild, skin-friendly cleansing milk for all skin types,

especially sensitive skin. Contains the BABOR-exclusive, detoxifying

extract of Agrimonia eupatoria, which has an astringent effect. Selected

active, anti-stress ingredients such as bisabolol, ginger and panthenol calm the skin even as you cleanse. Leaves

the skin looking deep cleansed and delivers a fresh and rosy appearance.

Free from colorants and preservatives.

A refreshing cleansing foam for all skin types. When sprayed, the liquid

turns into a rich, creamy foam. It contains the BABOR-exclusive, detoxifying extract of Agrimonia

eupatoria, which has an astringent effect while bisabolol and panthenol

supply the skin with intensive moisture. Leaves the skin looking

wonderfully relaxed and gives the com-plexion a fresh, radiant appearance.

Tonic

An astringent tonic with alco-hol and the BABOR-exclusive, detoxifying extract of Agrimonia eupatoria. Clarifi es oily/blemished and combination skin after cleans-ing and refi nes the pores. Contains extracts of horsetail and pansy to effectively combat skin blemishes. Refreshes and clarifi es the skin, and gives it a beautifully radiant appearance.

A refreshing, oil-free cleansing gel and face tonic with the BABOR-exclusive, detoxifying extract of Agrimonia eupatoria. Deep-cleanses oily and blemished skin quickly and easily. Extracts of horsetail and pansy extract effectively combat blemishes and prevent them from recurring. The result: visibly clean, soft skin.

Highly efficient bi-phase cleansing with HY-ÖL® & Phytoactive is still unique after more than 50 years.

The special cleansing effect

Even today, HY-ÖL® & Phytoactive remains a unique, biological skin cleansing method based on pure plant-based, hydrophilic oils that have a deep-pore cleansing action, yet at the same time are gentle on the skin and provide conditioning.

Soap and cleansers contain surfactants that cleanse the sur-face of the skin but they also remove natural oils from the skin, leaving it dry and chapped. The skin’s protective acid mantle is destroyed for several hours.

In contrast to soap or cleansers, HY-ÖL®, not only cleanses thoroughly and deep down, but also restores the skin as you cleanse. Combined with the phytoactives to each individual skin type, it delivers valuable skincare components while you cleanse.

In the second phase, a phytoactive herbal complex of natural active ingredients tailored to individual skin types is added to care for the skin during cleansing.

The art of the ritual:

· Dispense four pumps of HY-ÖL® into the palm of your hand; rub your hands together and apply the oil to your face (do not moisten skin beforehand).

· Apply two pumps of the Phytoactive on top of the HY-ÖL®.

· Next, using circling movements, gently massage into the face with your fingers, working in an upward direction.

· Moisten your fingers with cold water and continue massaging until a milky emulsion is formed.

· Rinse off with cold water.

· Finally, pat your face dry.

Using cold water enables the oils to emulsify freely; using cold water rather than warm water improves the cleansing power and the stability of the emulsion.
