Norm standards and models
Formally establish the way a group or company intends to do business, treat people, and operate on a day-to-day basis
Norms setting
A process used to establish a set of norms for an organization
Ways to establish norms:

The following behavioral and
procedural norms come “top down”:
Be quiet and ready to begin class when the bell rings.
I can hardly wait
to get started!
Respond when
someone speaks to you.
Smile and say hello to your
teacher and fellow classmates.
Raise your hand to signal that you’d like to speak
Give others the respect of listening when they want to say something
Keep comments relevant so you contribute to the discussion
No sidebar conversations!

You may have food and drinks in class as long as you follow…
THE
FOOD FOOD RULESRULES
Follow them and we will all be happy…
1.Do not make any
noise opening
food during class.
2. No one in the class should be able to hear you
chew.
3. You must not leave any
crumbs or food remains on or around your desk.
4. Do not get up during class to throw away food trash. Keep neatly on your desk until the end of the period. Recycle Recycle glass and plastic glass and plastic bottles, cardboard, aluminum, and paper—bottles, cardboard, aluminum, and paper—
anything else put in the trash can.
5. Food consumption must not take up more of your attention than class work.
Each individual is entitled to one or two food rule violation warnings, after
which that person’s food privileges will be revoked…HOWEVER, CHECKING
FOR TRASH AT THE END OF CLASS IS EVERYONE’S RESPONSIBILITY.
After 3 strikes, you’re out!
(meaning after 3 strikes, a class will lose its food privileges)
Keep our classroom—and our campus—neat and clean.
Hats and sunglasses should be removed in
class.
Do your homework every day.
Subject transitions will
be swift,
quietand orderly.
Be as organized
as possible.
Turn off and put
away ALL electronic devices during class.
(If I see them in use, I will follow the school
discipline matrix.)

When a substitute teacher is present, all classroom policies still apply and will be enforced.
Remember!
Respect and tolerance are what make any group interaction, whether in an academic, athletic, social or professional environment, run smoothly.
