Classroom Management Plan

PhilosophyI believe that all students are special and unique. I believe that they require

a safe and inviting environment to grow mentally, physically, and socially. This

requires a stimulating educational environment that integrates the interests of

ALL students. I aim to achieve a diverse classroom environment where we will

learn from those around us. My goal is based upon forming the entire person. I

believe in strengthening critical thinking skills by using empathy when solving

problems. I believe that each child has the capability to achieve great things, all

they need is a dedicated teacher to guide them along the way.

Love and Logic● Work with the students on MY terms.● Put the problem back into the

students hands.● Students learn to take responsibility.● Wait for students to cool down before

handling the situation○ Not now.○ Let’s talk about this later.

● Student takes the time to think through the problem.

Four Principles of L&L:1. Maintain the dignity of the

student and the teacher.2. Whenever possible, share the

control.3. Whenever possible, share the

thinking.4. Use empathy/consequences to

guide student behavior and self understanding.

pitch of your voice, And…sharing teacher stories

Day #1● Greet students at the door.● Introduce seating chart.● Introduce Agenda.● Introduce procedures.● Create class rules signed by each student.● Do get to know you activity.● Tell the student about myself!

Day #2● Review already known

procedures.● Introduce morning routine.● What are we going to learn about

in this class?● Create classroom guidelines.● Consequences???

Day #3● Homework procedure● Where to turn in assignments

Day #4 & #5● Rehearse the procedures

each day until they become

routine.

● Introduce classroom jobs.

Letters Home● Make a connection ASAP

● Include the guardian in their student’s education.

● Tell them about yourself.

● How can they contact you?

● How can you contact them?

What if???My biggest fear is discussing issues with angry parents…
