Indoor air quality (IAQ) is a term which refers to the air quality within and around
buildings and structures, especially as it relates to the health and comfort of building occupants. IAQ can be affected by gases (including carbon monoxide, radon, volatile
organic compounds), particulates, microbial contaminants (mold, bacteria), or any mass or energy stressor that can induce adverse health conditions. Source control,
filtration and the use of ventilation to dilute contaminants are the primary methods for improving indoor air quality in most buildings. Residential units can further improve indoor
air quality by routine cleaning of carpets and area rugs.
Determination of IAQ involves the collection of air samples, monitoring human exposure to pollutants, collection of samples on building surfaces, and computer modelling of air
flow inside buildings.

INTRODUCTION
Back pain affects most people at some time in their lives. It comes in
many forms, from lower back pain, middle back pain, or upper back
pain to low back pain with sciatica. Common back pain causes include
nerve and muscular problems, degenerative disc disease, and arthritis.
Many people find relief from symptoms of back pain with
physiotherapy.

Hari Raya Aidilfitri adalah perayaan penting yang
disambut oleh umat Islam di seluruh dunia. Ia juga disambut
sebagai perayaan tanda berakhirnya bulan puasa.
Jika anda mengunjungi rumah umat Islam pada Hari Raya
Aidilfitri anda akan dapat merasai pelbagai jenis hidangan,
kuih-muih dan minuman yang lazat. Kita dapat melihat pelbagai
makanan enak seperti daging, ayam rendang, lontong, lemang,
serunding dan makanan lain-lain yang dihidang semasa hari
raya. Ada yang berkata, musim perayaan ini adalah masa yang
sukar untuk mengelakkan diri dari makan makanan yang tinggi
kandungan garam, gula dan lemak. Di musim perayaan ini,
hidangan yang enak pastilah menjadi cabaran bagi sesiapa
yang menghidapi penyakit kencing manis, darah tinggi dan
penyakit buah pinggang kronik.
Pemakanan yang seimbang adalah kunci untuk tabiat makan
yang sihat. Langkah-langkah tertentu yang boleh di ambil
termasuklah memastikan bahawa makanan yang disediakan
dengan menggunakan makanan penggantian yang tertentu,
seperti menggunakan lebih banyak rempah dan mengurangkan
penggunaan garam, mengekalkan pengambilan protein yang
ditetapkan oleh pakar pemakanan dan tidak makan berlebihan.
Ini adalah tips yang boleh membantu anda memantau
pemakanan anda pada musim perayaan ini:-
PROTEIN
Sumber protein boleh didapati dari ayam, daging, ikan, telur,
makanan laut dan kekacang. Kebanyakan makanan yang
disediakan pada musim Aidilfitri seperti daging / ayam rendang,
serunding, laksa, kuah kacang dan lontong yang dihidangkan
dengan tempe, tauhu, udang dan sotong sambal. Hidangan ini
mengandungi sumber protein yang tinggi.
Untuk pesakit predialysis buah pinggang kronik,
mengurangkan pengambilan protein boleh melambatkan
perkembangan penyakit buah pinggang kronik. Pakar
pemakanan boleh membantu anda menentukan jumlah
protein yang sesuai untuk anda.
Bagi pesakit Hemodialisis dan Peritoneal Dialisis,
pengambilan protein yang lebih tinggi adalah diperlukan.
TETAPI ingatlah bahawa kebanyakan hidangan ini tinggi
dalam lemak (minyak & santan).
Ini adalah tips yang boleh membantu anda memantau

FOSFAT Kebanyakan hidangan semasa Aidilfitri mengandungi fosfat
yang tinggi. Ini adalah perkara penting yang perlu anda tahu
sebelum menyambut Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
• Makanan yang mengandungi santan atau kerisik seperti
daging / ayam rendang, kuah lodeh dan mee kari
Jangan menghabiskan semua kuah. Pengambilan kuah
separuh mangkuk boleh mengurangkan separuh
pengambilan fosfat.
• Kuah kacang yang dibuat daripada kacang tanah. Ia
biasanya dimakan bersama dengan nasi impit atau sate
Jadi, janganlah menuang dengan banyak kuah kacang
pada nasi Impit / sate, anda boleh mecelup nasi impit /
sate ke dalam kuah yang diisi dalam mangkuk kecil
semasa makan.
• Mee rebus disediakan daripada bahan yang mengandungi
fosfat yang tinggi seperti kacang dan kentang
Jangan menghabiskan semua kuah; hanya makan mee
dengan bahan-bahan lain di dalam mee rebus.
• Kandungan kuning telur yang tinggi dalam pelbagai kek,
muffin dan cookies.
• Minuman berkarbonat juga mengandungi fosfat yang tinggi.
Anda boleh meminta air kosong sebagai minuman alternatif.
• Mesti sentiasa membawa ubat pengikat fosfat bersama dan
ingatlah untuk mengambil ia dengan hidangan utama anda.
• Rancang pemakanan anda, dengan hanya mengambil 3
hidangan utama dan 2-3 snek.
GULA
Pengambilan gula yang tinggi akan meningkatkan paras
glukosa darah bagi mereka yang menghidapi penyakit
kencing manis. Tetapi bagi pesakit CKD yang tidak
menghidapi penyakit kencing manis, adalah lebih baik jika
anda boleh mengurangkan pengambilan gula. Ini adalah
kerana paras glukosa dalam darah yang tinggi akan
menyebabkan dahaga dan pengambilan cecair sukar
dikawal.
• Berhati-hatilah dengan pengambilan makanan pencuci-
mulut, puding, kek, muffin dan pelbagai biskut yang
mengandungi gula dan coklat yang tinggi.
RANCANG WAKTU MAKAN
Setelah berpuasa selama sebulan, sistem pencernaan perut
telah direhatkan. Bayangkan keadaan perut anda yang telah
lama berehat dan secara mengejut diberi makanan yang
banyak tanpa henti. Hal ini boleh mendatangkan masalah
kepada perut anda kelak. Jadi, nasihat kami adalah
merancang pemakanan anda dengan makan secara
berperingkat. Jangan makan dalam kuantiti yang banyak
pada hari raya pertama. Beri masa untuk perut anda kembali
beroperasi secara normal.

KAWALAN PENYAKIT
Bagi anda yang mempunyai penyakit berkaitan jantung, darah tinggi mahupun diabetis , pengawalan jenis
makanan yang diambil amat penting! Elak makanan tinggi gula dan karbohidrat buat pesakit diabetis . Makanan
ringan seperti kerepek dan kuah rendang atau berlemak harus dielakkan bagi pengidap sakit darah tinggi.
Kandungan garam dan bahan perasa di dalam masakan tersebut sangat tinggi dan mampu menjejaskan
kesihatan anda. Bagi pesakit jantung pula, sebolehnya makanlah makanan yang telah dinasihatkan oleh doktor
anda. Makanlah kuih raya yang sihat mengandungi oat dari kuih-kuih yang lain.
KAWALAN PEMAKANAN Bagaimana mahu mengawal saiz pemakanan? Mudah sahaja caranya. Gunakan pinggan yang kecil ketika
mengambil makanan. Ini merupakan cara disiplin yang dikatakan mampu mengawal saiz makanan anda. Jika
anda menggunakan pinggan yang besar pasti kuantiti makanan yang diambil juga bertambah banyak.
SENAMAN RINGKAS
Perkara ini adalah perkara paling wajib untuk kekal sihat. Curilah masa setidak-ridaknya 15 minit setiap hari untuk
anda lakukan senaman ringkas di rumah. Lakukan senaman anda secara berjadual.

About the Author
Nicholas J. Bahr is an internationally recognized expert in system safety, risk
