� Opstelling : 4 pallets commodities : 2 x 2 hoog configuratie� Afstand top goederen – nozzles = 300 mm

� Nozzle matrix : 6 nozzles /rij x 4 rijen -> 4,86 m² sproeioppervlak per nozzle

� Sproeidichtheid -> vb: 49l/min / 4,86 m² = 10 l/min.m² = 10 mm/min

� Kubus : 60 mm x 60 mm x 75 mm

� Glasvezel isolatieplaat

� Gedrenkt in 120 ml heptaan -> verpakt in polyethyleen plastic zak

Test procedure

� Activatie nozzles (start blussing):

� Pas nadat brand een convectieve heat release ratevan 2 MW bereikt heeft

� FM : pas nadat activeringstijd van sprinkler (141°C –RTI 500) is bereikt

� Bovenste laag goederen betrokken bij brand

� Goederen worden getest met 3 # water densiteiten

(gekozen uit onderstaande tabel)

� Uitzondering voor bepaalde type goederen :

� “Free burn” test + 2 testen met bluswater

Level of Hazard bepaald door 4 parameters:

� V1= Maximaal gemiddelde gedurende één minuut van de totale

warmteafgiftesnelheid.

� V2 = Maximaal gemiddelde gedurende één minuut van de convectie

warmteafgiftesnelheid.

� V3 = Effectieve convectiewarmte afgiftesnelheid, gedefinieerd als de

gemiddelde convectieve warmte afgiftesnelheid gemeten over de vijf

minuten van de meest intense brand.

� V4 = Convectieve energie; de totale convectieve energie gemeten over de tien

minuten van de meest ernstige verbranding.

– De parameters V1,V2,V3,V4 worden voor de verschillende bluswaterdensiteitenzowel in tabellen als grafisch weergegeven.

– Elke waarde correleert met een “rang” gaande van 0,25 tot 4,5.

Commodity classification fire test analysis

Per densiteit wordt er van de rank value een rekenkundig gemiddelde berekend “Mean unit rank”. De “Mean total rank” is het rekenkundig gemiddelde van all “mean unit ranks”. Op basis van de “mean total rank” wordt een product onderveeld in de 4 categoriën

Bijkomende criteria : •Als er een “mean unit rank” waarde is die 1,00 rank waardegroter is dan de “mean total rank” dan dienen de goederenvolgens de waarde van de “mean unit rank” ingedeeld worden.•Indien één of meerdere individuele rank waarden groter zijndan 4,5 dan dienen de goederen behandeld te worden als“special hazard”.

De stapelhoogte

De opslaghoogte is een van de meest invloedrijke factoren in het

ontwerp van de sprinklerinstallatie,ongeacht de wijze van opslag.

Reden :

� De totale vrijkomende warmte neemt toe met de hoogte

� HRR (warmte-afgiftesnelheid ) neemt toe met de hoogte

� Schoorsteen effect (rook) neemt toe met de hoogte

� Afscherming van de goederen t.o.v. waterafgifte sprinkler

neemt toe met de hoogte

� Bescherming door water “run-down” kan verminderen

met de hoogte
